- Welcome to R2W. My friends call me doc or simply Dr. Rafick. In my early days, I grew up in TUDM Kuantan and studied at SRPT Kuantan from 1970 to 1975. Susan loone, a fellow blogger was my classmate. Since leaving school, I manage to trace a few of my classmates and hoping to meet more of them. My father was a soldier and hence I moved quite a bit during my early days like a nomad. We were in Singapore, PD, Temerloh, Kuantan and Ulu Tiram, Johor.
- Professionally I graduated from UKM and did my postgraduate training NUS, Singapore. While in the Army I pursued various programs like Tropical Medicine, Aerospace Medicine and finally the MBA. While in the Military I had the pleasure of serving the King and country. I had served as part of the UN peacekeeping force in Cambodia and several Army and Air Force bases around Malaysia. I left the MAF in 1999.
- One thing that I realize is that I am not the kind of guy that can sit still and taking money from the sick people. I tried GP practice for 3 months and gave up when I could not get rid of the guilty conscious of taking money from the sick. I told my self that there are many other ways other than milking the sick for money. Post military, I served in the corporate world in several capacity and currently working with a German company that is a world leader in Islamic Reinsurance. I stopped practicing professionally in 1999.I have strong views and sometimes quite rigid about them. Some labeled me as a firebrand. I started to blog when I realized it is almost impossible for me to be heard on the MSM. I write because I want to express myself and I like to read what others have to say. There are two sides of a coin and it is always good see both side of it.
