1.	Past week few people commented about the need of having a single stream school system in Malaysia. Najib as anticipated played down the issue by saying that it will not be implemented if the people do not want it. As Malaysian, we need to ask ourselves which is more important, political survival of some politicians or the need to be one, as a nation.

2.	Some people may argue that the country has progressed over the last 52 years with the current system in place. There isn’t a need to change because education index among Malaysian is high, per capita income is high. We have many highways and tall buildings. Are these criteria enough to measure the maturity and success of a nation?

3.	Former Propaganda Minister, Zainuddin Maidin said “Malaysia should emulate Singapore’s single stream school system so as to produce a population that “no longer spoke and acted on racial sentiments”. Well, there is some truth about what the Zainuddin is saying but it is not the only reason. Singapore became what it is today, because of strong political leadership with political will and strong governance. They had one mission and the mission remains the same since 1965. In Malaysia, it is not the same. For e.g. One PM came with out with Islam Hadhari and the next PM made it into “Islam hari hari”. The point I am trying to get at is that our goals change with the PM of the country.

4.	The key point that we must accept is that after 52 years of implementing the present education system, the people of this country are still divided along racial lines. The current system of education does not promote trust between the people. It becomes a sore point among many people in the street. We must appreciate that the current system is in place because some people felt it is a must to maintain their mother tongue and the politicians who pushed this ideology did it for the sake of themselves and not the country, Malaysia. These are the very people who govern the nation for 52 years and place their interest first before the nation. I believe it is time to move forward.

5.	If we accept the fact that Malaysia comes first before the politicians and the hardcore racist people, then we must do what is right. The right thing is the government must provide a single stream education system. This is not something new. It is practiced worldwide. It is proven beyond the shores of Singapore. In Indonesia, the government there even forces the non Malays to have an Indonesian name but we don’t have to go that far. We must accept that people, who eat, play together and talks in common language maintains a stronger and lasting bond. We must start afresh after having a failed system in the last 52 years.

6.	We must have the political will to change. It is better to cut off and starts a new and gets rid of this thorn in the flesh. The government must no longer support vernacular schools. Politicians on both sides must not be held ransom by the votes of people that support vernacular system. The vernacular schools can continue to exist on their own as other private schools in the country. This is done in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei and many other parts of the world. They should not get any government funding. Any government of the day that continues funding vernacular schools either via donation or others means that the government is promoting racial based policies. Maintaining mother tongue and culture should be done at home. Malaysian school system must be devoid of excessive religious infusion and must focus on key elementary subjects. Language classes can be provided within the government system as an option. My not so favorite Education Deputy Minister, Wee Kah Siong may not agree with me. He would argue that it is embeded in the Malaysian constitution. We have change the constitution more than thousand times. Changing it once more makes no difference.

7.	As Malaysian, we need to ask ourselves. Which one comes first, the nation or oneself or maintaining mother tongue? Should we sacrifice and continue splitting this nation of ours along racial lines or focused to be as one. To me, Malaysia comes first.

1.	A raid that took place in Sri Ukay last night was organized by JAIS and assisted by the police. During that raid, it appears that the former Perlis Mufti Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin (Dr Asri) was arrested for giving an Islamic talk to the residents there. Several things came to my mind when the raid took place. Firstly it was a well coordinated raid organizes by JAIS and the police. Despite that the Ampang OCPD claims that the police do not know anything but merely assisted in the raid. What a joke?

2.	Among the well known residents of Sri Ukay are Dr Saari Sungib (PAS-Adun Hulu Kelang) and Haslinda Zerain, the former Putri No 2 and the candidate for Bukit Antarabangsa during the general election. Apparently YB Saari was at the program. Initially, I thought it was organize at his house but it turns out it was organize at another resident house. I am not sure whether Haslinda attended the program but I was told that it was organize not far from her house.

3.	It was only reported in the last few days that Dr Asri receives the invitation to join PAS but he has not made up his mind. Though being denied by many people in power, the general perception is that the arrest is politically motivated. It does not matter why a former Mufti is being arrested by JAIS but the perception among the public is that it has something to do with the PAS invitation.

4.	From the way, I see it; Dr Asri is not good enough. He is not educated enough to give a lecture on religious matters. He is not qualified based on Selangor Religious Authority (JAIS) standard. Therefore he was arrested. A former Mufti in one state is not good enough to be allowed to speak about religion in another state in Malaysia. This is 1-Malaysia, a country where Islamic standards are different from one state to the other.

5.	JAIS actions have shown the dark side of its administration. It shows that they are being manipulated. They are showing to the world, Islam in Malaysia varies in one state to the other. What is Halal in one state, it may be Makruh or Haram in another. I have shown some examples related to this matter in my previous article. When a person is considered knowledgeable to speak about Islam in one state, he or she may not be considered the same in another state.

6.	JAIS action last night has demonstrated the shallowness in the thinking of the administrators. There are many people with lesser knowledge are giving “Tazkirah” in Mosque and Surau’s in many part of Selangor. They are not being questioned. There are also plenty of speakers on the radio wave that speak in other states but are also heard by the masses in the radio and on TV in Selangor. They have not been censored. Clearly, JAIS has made has shot themselves in the toe.

7.	I think JAIS actions has reinforced Dr Asri mind that he should join PAS. Again if you are a Muslim in Perlis, you may not be considered the same in Selangor. If a scholar considered not good enough, what more people in the street like many of us.

1.	When the news of Nik Aziz wanting to have an EGM surfaces, there was a myriad of views in the papers. BN leaders in particular UMNO was having a field day giving their views. No matter which camp is being questioned, it is quite clear that PAS members are divided. For that matter, all political parties in this country has got a team A, B and sometimes C. Therefore I am not too concern about PAS in this respect.

2.	Nik Aziz reputation precedes him. As a leader of a state he is well respected. He has earned his respect from many layers of the society. Even the Chinese and Indians in Kelantan also respect him. His actions are based on the need of being fair and are guided by what he learns from the Quran and Prophet Mohamed s.a.w teachings.

3.	So when Nik Aziz wanted to have an EGM to address the members on the principle of PAS, it certainly sent shockwaves throughout the nation. The current PAS leaders are more thinking about Malay unity but that is not what PAS is all about.

4.	Is the original PAS ideology is about Malay unity? Malay unity is UMNO ideology. The name UMNO itself reflects their ideology. At the turn of the century, urban Malays are questioning UMNO ideology. Many can see that in UMNO some are more equal than others. As a result people sees that UMNO has become an elite group that champions and protect the interest of select few in the inner circle.

5.	If the current PAS leadership is now following UMNO it certainly an issue of concern for Malays at large as well as PAS members. People who are true to PAS ideology must be able to see that Islam is not for Malays. Islam is also for non Malays. There is room in Islam for non believers.

6. PAS need to see itself beyond the boundary of racialism. In PR, they must show their credibility. They must be the leader of the pact and PKR can be glue that binds all the coalition members. To be the leader of the pact, they must show that they are able to lead in a way that the Islam teaches us. It must earn the respect of the other coalition members that it can act fairly for all as wanted by Islam. In Perak, we see Nizar can do it. I am sure there are many more Nizar out there in PAS.

7.	This is what I see Nik Aziz has in his mind. I believe he saw that there is a need to develop a system that ensures justice and fair for all. A system where there is two strong coalitions that will contribute a check and balance in the country political system. If PAS and UMNO forms a union, then there will be no long term impact in this country. Malaysia will continue to be a racial based country. In the long run, the people will be divided by the politicians.

8.	Whatever it is, that is what my crystal ball tells me. I might be wrong but I hope I am not. PAS can be better than UMNO. It can be the leader of the coalition but for that to happen it needs to push to the forefront leaders that can see the big picture. It needs to earn the respect of other coalition members as well as the respect of the people. It has to weed out the narrow minded members who think Islam is for the Malays only.

1. I guess everyone is still shocked with the imported Pathologist from Thailand, Dr Porntip Rojanasunan (Dr PR) revelation that there is 80% probability that TBH died from Homicide and not suicide. As usual, I prefer to analyze the exact facts reveal during inquest by visiting the AG Chamber website but I found that the “Nota Keterangan” has not been updated since 14 Aug 2009. The video recording was has a poor audio quality and I really need to read the “Explanatory Notes” to digest what was asked and what was said by all parties.

2.. As I do not have access to the crucial information, I have to rely on what was printed in the MSM as well as on the online media. To ensure consistency, I use The Star, NST, Malaysian Insider, Malaysiakini and Malaysian Mirror as my source of reference.

3. Some people are wondering on how Dr PR came to this 80% conclusion. I can safely say that is based on facts and her own personal experience. She would then make a guesstimate on the probability that TBH was murdered and did not commit suicide. We must appreciate that Dr PR came to the conclusion without examining the actual body but based on document review which includes photos, reports and the reports by her 2 assistance that came over several months back. I will try to explain in the simple manner on how Dr PR arrived at this conclusion.

4. Dr PR concluded that that TBH was unconscious and was already injured when he exited the window based on the type, severity and location of injuries. It appears that TBH has two types of injuries. One is due to the fall and the other is due to physical abuses. She concluded that in the absence of reactive injury when the late TBH impacted the floor, he must be unconscious.

5. Firstly, Dr PR concluded that he was unconscious because she expected that someone that is conscious during a fall would cushion his/her fall with an outstretched hand. This is a common sense which I believe many people who had slipped would have experience injuries on the hand or wrist as a result of the body reflex where the person hand would automatically be outstretched. At the height, speed and momentum, one would expect severe injuries to the hands but in this case there were none. For this reason she concluded TBH was unconscious. This is a fair, simple and acceptable argument.

6. The second issue is that whether TBH has injuries consistent with a fall from height. In this aspect, Dr PR agreed with Malaysian doctors that there is substantial evidence to show that there is a fall from height. Among others, these include the leg and hip fractures. Again this is a reasonable and fair conclusion.

7. The other significant comment that was highlighted by Dr PR that indicates that TBH was brutalized before being thrown out of the window is based on several signs on the body. The first being the skull fracture where she said is consistent with a blunt trauma. In this case, the skull injury does not match those that are due to the fall. Personally, I think both side of the camp can split hair and probably there is a strong probability that both parties are right in the sense that it is hard to differentiate the outcome of an injury due to a fall and due to a blunt trauma.

8. The most damaging evidence came from the findings of Dr PR on the signs of strangulation around the neck. A quick review of the pathologist report (Item No 5, pg 7 and Item under heading of injuries on page 3) showed that the Malaysian Pathologist acknowledge the presence of the wound but did not account for the reason of the wound. Certainly, Dr PR has a point as she demonstrated how the wound would have come about i.e. by manual strangulation.

9. Another interesting interpretation by Dr PR is with regards to the anal wound. Again the Malaysian Pathologist noted the presence of a penetrating wound injury measuring 2cmx6cm (Item 7 and 8, page No4) (item 7, 8 page No8 ) but did not take into account the cause of this injury when making their conclusions. Dr PR claim such a longitudinal wound must have been due to a penetrating injury rather that the fractures around the hip. This is also logical

10. From Dr PR findings, it is obvious that the Malaysian doctors actually saw what Dr PR saw but did not take into account the seriousness of the two injuries at the neck and anus. Is there a possibility that they had intentionally omitted their conclusions on these two injuries? If there is such a possibility, then why did they do it? A senior pathologist like Dr Khairul surely could not have concluded that the injury especially in the neck is due to a fall from height.

11. Based on Dr PR explanation, I believe the Malaysian doctors need to revisit their findings again and analyze it. They need to find a solid argument to counter the findings of Dr PR. I would say they are in a better position to do so because they examined the body and Dr PR did not. Finding a solid yet acceptable argument may not be easy in light of things that have happened.

12. Based on my own analysis, I concur with Dr PR that TBH was unconscious when he exited the window. I concurred with her findings that TBH sustained some injuries that is due to a fall from height. I have no access to the body and post mortem pictures but Dr PR has seen TBH post mortem pictures. In that aspect, I gave her the vote that TBH was brutalized before being thrown out of the window. My position remains the same unless the Malaysian Pathologist can provide some simple, reasonable and logical explanation with regards to the injury of the neck and anus. In the meantime, the general feeling is that the people believe that that there is an interdepartmental collaboration to COVER UP rather than to solve the crime.

1. I completely forgot that today is the day that the Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand (Dr PR) was supposed to take the stand at the TBH Inquest. I was busy attending a seminar and half way through, suddenly by blackberry receives strings of updates from friends and unknown people asking me to read the Malaysian online papers. All of them are now more than ever convinced that TBH was killed in the MACC premises.

2. Dr PR background as a no nonsense person with 10000 post mortem behind her certainly will create a dent in anyone theory that TBH jumped out of the window voluntarily. In my previous CSI series, I have indicated that there is just no motive for him to jump. There are more motives for him to continue living as he is getting married in the next few hours.

3. In her testimony she acknowledges that, Dr PR did not visit the site. She did not examined the body but she based her findings based on the post mortem reports, pictures provided by various parties and findings of her 2 assistants that came over a few months ago. Despite that she is confident enough to conclude that there is an 80% probability that TBH was murdered. Would it be 100% or 50% if Dr PR was on site after the body was found and if she were able to do the PM on the body of the late TBH? In the peoples mind, I believe many would believe that she would have concluded beyond certainty (i.e. 100%) that TBH was murdered.

4. What does this testimony means? To some it may means that TBH was murdered by MACC officers. To me it means a lot more. It means that the entire system which consists of the MACC, Police, the doctors (from Klang and UHKL), and officers in Putrajaya is now on trial.

5. It creates a damning perception among the people on whether the Government Machinery can be trusted to work professionally and independently. The perception is now growing that the interdepartmental cooperation has gone beyond the “professional level”. It appears now that there is a cooperation not to uncover the truth but to cover it up!

6. Based on the earlier court proceedings, there were unusual communication trend between MACC officers in Shah Alam and MACC HQ in Putrajaya while the death took place. This piece of clue and the other related testimonies by MACC officers suggest that they knew what was going on. For that reason, Hishamuddin (MACC No2) had told his staff not to lodge a police report. Despite he was in the office the whole night he was in Putrajaya subsequently and asked his officers to go to Putrajaya and brief him.

7. We must not forget the “surat layang” which gives information on the inner working of MACC and character of their officers and in particular Mr. Hishamuddin. The latest information by Dr PR, the various facts deduced during the inquest and the surat laying must be evaluated as one.

8. I believe Dr PR has strengthened my own theory and deductions that TBH was either dead or unconscious when he exited the window. It seems both of us agreed on the estimated time of death. I am waiting for her to comments on the torn pants as well as with regards to the damage shoe. It points to the fact that he died while he was in custody of MACC. He was never released.

9. This is a very sad day indeed. The public is now more that certain that TBH was murdered in the process of bringing down the Selangor State Government and not merely investigating a corruption. The way he was investigated is certainly different from the way other people like (e.g. Khir Toyo) was investigated. If I am not mistaken, Khir Toyo did not spend a night at MACC. It will further enhance the people believes that there are politicians involves in this whole scheme.

10. Personally, I say it is the best interest of BN government to give up the culprits, punish those who are involved as this will have a long term implications. BN need to sacrifice those people to protect the interest of the political party. Right now managing people perception is far more important than anything else. I suggest they do it before it is too late. To the doctors of Klang Hospital (and UHKL) that were involved in the Post Mortem, they must be pacing in their office…

Continuation: Death at MACC-My CSI XVI – Making sense of the 80% probability

1.	Someone told me before a long time ago that there is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone face that they have been offered a job. I remember my elation and happiness when I received my offer letter from the government as if it happens only this morning.

2.	Over the years, I had helped many people along the way for the same reason. Many friends and friend of a friend are benefiting for the small thing that I do along the way. Many of them today have grown the ranks and are in the middle to senior management group. Some people even told me that I should be a head hunter and make a living out of it. Well that is not my intention. I just enjoy seeing people calling me and tells me; “Doc, I got the job…”

3. All this while, I did it along the way in an unsystematic manner. Whenever I hear an opportunity, I pass it around to the right people. When there is job seeker that needs a job I tell a prospecting employer. I gave my recommendations when it is due. Unfortunately, this is an unsystematic way of doing things and the number of people I can help is very limited.

4.	Fact remains, in the current competitive environment, it is not easy to get a job without a helping hand. Prospecting employer always give due consideration if the recommendation came from a friendly party. Online head hunting services are non- personalized and does not give the much needed edge.

5.	Past week I had two phone calls from friendly parties asking for help. The first coming from a young girl from Penang that just graduated in Accountancy and has not been successful in all her attempts so far. She hopes to get a job either in KL or Penang.

6.	And then I had a call from another friend whose sister has been dealt with strings of unfortunate events. In the last two logistic companies that she worked, the company ends up closing shop because of market difficulty. Her background is in logistics. It is indeed sad that we cannot help everyone all the time but can help someone sometimes. I thought we should change that. We all should help and put a lot of smile into people faces. Sometimes people are so demoralized that they cannot even find the avenues to get a job.

7.	In the short term, I am hoping the readers of my blog can help me in getting a job for this two people. If anyone need their CV, do let me know. I will email you the resume. In the long run, I hope someone can give me an idea on how we can develop a social service network where we can help the people in need in getting a job.

8.	It must be systematic, organized and has the personal touch that will make it easier for people to find a job. It has to be on a voluntary basis where being paid for service is not on the menu. Is there anyone out there that can help?

1.	In the past few days, I have been in the offline mode despite not having any problem accessing the internet. It seems most of the story that has been running on the online media is being repeated and it has becoming very dry. In PKR, Azmin and Zaid Ibrahim seems to be facing some problems but from what I was told that there is indeed problems within PR but it has been exaggerated by the MSM to show that it is in a critical stage.

2.	In MCA, more information is now coming out from last week Central Committee (CC) meeting. It is clear now that the CC members are not prepared to face the consequences when they made the collective decision to remove CSL. There are some CC members who were hoping to take the express elevator to be in higher office. They are painting a picture that the problem can be resolved in MCA if both CSL and OTK are no longer in MCA.

3.	I am not sure if the problem will go away but it is quite clear that CSL removal was based on a collective decision by the CC and certainly OTK should not be made the scapegoat of that decision because he was the MCA president. This is a problem when people start placing their personal interest over the party interest. Liow Tiong Lai (LTL) was an instant benefactor of the current problem in MCA. I guess he is a hurry to be the president.

4.	I believe OTK made the right decision to let the delegates decides at an EGM decides whether an AGM should be call to settle the current problem. Firstly, he has the constitutional rights in ordering for another EGM. Secondly, the CC members were split right in the middle on the need to resign because of their collective decision. The CC members were also divided on the issue of whether OTK need to resign. In a way an EGM calling for an Ex-AGM will solve a whole lot of problems.

5.	While this is going on in MCA, I was surprised to see an article in Malaysian Insider where the DAP is telling the police to investigate the possibility of corruption involving LTL. It seems that a company by the name of Axis Construction has been paying for the Toyota Alphard belonging to LTL’s wife. I am not sure whether this is true but an article in Malaysia Today, gave all the facts which includes date, amount and check number. This should be an easy case for police or the MACC considering the necessary documents has been made public.

6.	I expect between now and the EGM, more dirt from both of the dissenting camp will comes out. LTL will be under attack. It is not easy to unseat the president when he has the powers within his hand. OTK soldiers will be on the attack and LTL need to act in a manner that does not killed his long term political future.

7.	I hope more information will come out when the battle within MCA continues. It will surely test the fitness of the committee members and MCA top echelons and at the same time the hungry public will be given more information about the wrong doing by our political office bearers. Only the tough will survive. Certainly, Malaysia boleh!

1.	The Malaysian Insider yesterday reported that The Umno special assembly had passed the constitutional amendments which will change the way the party conducts its party elections. Like any other association, the amendments are subjected to the approval of the Registrar of Society. I believe, the ROS will act and approve the amendments without change and expeditiously.

2.	In a bold move, I would say the current UMNO leadership is different from their predecessors. In the long history of UMNO and especially when Mahathir was the President, the constitution was change to ensure that those in power can consolidate its position further with very little threat. This time around, Najib , his deputy and the MT has decided that it is best that for the long term best interest of UMNO and the nation, power of electing key leaders should be decentralize and be given to more members.

3.	At the same time to ensure that only those with administrative and the right political skill can go up, they have set a minimum number of years a person can contest. Under the amendments, an aspiring candidate for any supreme council post must have served in the division committee for at least one term. Members who want to contest a division post must be a party member for at least three years.

4.	My own assessment is that Najib and his people have effectively put the party above themselves. It will eliminate election corruption. It will force individuals to contest on his own accord and strength. He can no longer contest on the basis of being a team member of the president of anyone else. In the long run this is good for UMNO and also for Malaysia.

5.	In his speech, Najib mentioned the need for UMNO to take care of the interest of the Malays and non Malays to ensure that the nation prospers. This is what Dato Onn Jaffar wanted to do a long time ago which led to his expulsion. The only difference is that Najib has not indicated on how UMNO will ensure the rights and the interest of the non Malays will be protected under his plan.

6.	In my previous writing, I had mentioned several times that for the good of the country, politicians need to move from its race based politics into a 2 party system. It might have taken the Americans more than 150 years but I believe there is a greater need to expedite the formation of 2 party systems in this country.

7. In my humble of opinion, UMNO must be the leader on the BN side. It must open its doors to all Malaysian. It must end this race base politics which was introduce by the British. Only then, the interest of all Malaysian can be taken care off. If this is not done, I sincerely believe no matter whatever internal constitutional change that is being done, it would only give a short life line to UMNO under the current circumstances. I suggest UMNO thinkers to think really hard.

1. After the first EGM that was done a few days ago on 101010, many including me had thought that OTK will resign. The first EGM result was surprising enough as no one had predicted the way the voting results had turn out. Many had expected it to be an “all or none” kind of result which would decide the fate of OTK and CSL.

2. Like many others, I too was anxiously waiting for the outcome of the MCA central committee meeting that took place today. Mahathir in his usual brash said that both OTK and CSL should resign. Many had expected my University mate, Dato Sri Liow Tiong Lai (LTL) to take over as the acting MCA president. I had predicted the same and told my boss this morning that the most likely outcome would be that OTK would resign because of his principles and LTL will be the caretaker Chairman. It turns out that I was wrong big time. It also shows that world of politics does not usually works in the way ordinary people would think. I think many punters lost money as well today because OTK did not resign.

3. The MCA central committee was certainly divided on the next course of decision and the best decision is to let the members decide. This is indirectly what the MCA central committee did. I will explain why I said indirectly in the subsequent paragraph. At the moment it is quite clear that CSL has been further sidelined and the appointment of LTL has made it quite difficult for CSL to come back into his number 2 position.

4. The MCA central committee has decided to let its members decide whether an Extraordinary AGM should be called to resolve the current leadership crisis. I thought the resolution of the EGM should be whether OTK or the central committee should resign en bloc. Instead the resolution is to decide whether an Ex-AGM should be called. This is one way for OTK and those behind him in the central committee to save face and stay in power. I think if the resolution calling for OTK to resign, based on the recent EGM result he might just exit MCA in a dishonorable manner.

5. The central committee decision asking for members to decide on the calling of Ex-AGM, it would mean that not the President and its central committee must resign but all the office bearers at every level of MCA organizational structure must resign. This is a brilliant move. In a way the central committee has made it an equal opportunity for everyone to win or to lose in the event that the AGM will be held. This would also means that the CSL and OTK would have equal opportunity to re-contest the various positions again.

6. The delegates that will attend the upcoming EGM will not only decide the fate of the president and the central committee but their own fate as well. Those who had opposed OTK in the recent EGM must do some serious thought if they chose to have an Ex- AGM. In the next AGM even their position will also be contested and they may just lose their own position again. In a way the delegates will be in a catch 22 position. In Malay, there is a proverb that says “ Ditelan mati mak, diludah mati bapak” which aptly describe the situation.

7. Indirectly, OTK has reinforced his position and forces the delegates to make a tough decision. The next big question would be when the MCA Secretary General would call for the EGM. Would it be on 11111? Politics never fails to entertain me proven me wrong. It shows that I can never be a politician.

1. This morning, while driving to work, I receive a phone call from my local council member who lives in Bukit Antarabangsa with regards to the issue of traffic congestion in the MRR2. As predicted, the congestion has normalized and now it starts in Bukit Antarabangsa. He claims that he has been receiving many calls from residents and he told me that he does not want to interfere. He told the residents to call me instead because I had not informed and invited him when I had the meeting with the police. He claims that my suggestions have made things worse.

2. My mood is never good in the morning of late because of the traffic issue and normally it gets better once I reached the office and start working. However, his phone call this morning really upsets me. He just needs a wakeup call and despite my respect for his age, I think it is imperative that I give my two cents worth to what he told me.

3. I was very upset because of two reasons. The first being his refusal to accept my explanation that the police did not implement my 7 point proposal but merely adopted 2 out of the proposal and the trial was terminated after 2 days. He claims that the traffic was much better before the trial conducted by the police compared to what is happening today. He don’t even know what I had proposed to the police despite I had published in my blog.

4. The second, it seems that he is “merajuk” for not being invited to attend the meeting with the police. I told him that I was a nobody. I am a resident and had written to MPAJ and the police on my own personal accord and initiative because I want things to improve. When I ask him to use his position as MPAJ councilor in trying to get the MPAJ to find a permanent solution, he decline on the grounds that he was not involved in the meeting. He told me to call for a press conference and “belasah” the police.

5. I was really irritated with the conduct of this councilor. This is not the first time. To me he did not get his facts right. The traffic situation today is the same as before the trial. Secondly, the traffic was much better on the second day of the trial before the police decided to stop it abruptly because of congestion near ISKL. I was very irritated that he decided to “merajuk” just because the police did not invite him. I did not organize the meeting at 630 am. The police did and I was merely a participant like JKR Gombak and MPAJ officers.

6. As a councilor, I expect him to use his position effectively. I had expected to do something about the traffic problem via MPAJ. He should have taken the initiative to do so. He is sitting in the council, the highest governing body of a local authority. He has failed to use his office effectively in solving the resident problems. I guess he was upset because he was not treated as the VVip in Bukit Antarabangsa when we engaged the authorities in trying to solve the traffic problem.

7. In my mind, he had failed in his duties because no action was done until the resident had to act on their own initiative to get things done. Despite that he is still flouting his arrogance that he insist that must be invited to participate to solve the traffic problem. As person who has lives in BA for years, I expect him to have appreciated the problem and to act accordingly and not waited to be invited. This is the act of a very small person in the political network. I cannot imagine how he would behave if becomes and ADUN or MP.

8. When it comes to the issue of hill slope safety, it is the same. I expect him to use his office and act in a manner that will give the residents of BA a piece of mind. There is plenty of important information which he has access to in MPAJ. This is useful to the residents, which will give a true picture of the hills slope status to the people in BA. There is no point to visit a landslide area after a rock fall and to show people that one is concern. I prefer and expect him to work on prevention matters. Unfortunately this is not forthcoming.

9. I had said many times before. I am no politician, I have no political ambition. I am not a member of any political party. If it is wrong in my eyes, I will say it is wrong – No matter who did it. As a resident I wished for a better and safe living environment for me and my neighbors. I would like to drive to work with ease in the morning. I will handle the police in my own small way. I have the integrity and the intelligence to know when to “belasah” anyone. To “belasah” the Ampang Police via a PC is counterproductive and something that I will not do. I leave that to the politicians like him. To this particular councilor, I have one thing to say. “You have earned my displeasure”.

1.	Most of my friends were not surprised with the results of the Bagan Pinang election that concluded yesterday. In my initial write, I had anticipated that Isa will win and I said;” Kalau tak monang bosar, tak tahulah apo nak di kato”. Well Isa actually win big time. Some of the MSM highlight Isa with accolades from “Zero to Hero”. Reality is BN won because they did whatever it takes to ensure that they win. They left nothing to chance.

2.	The soldiers votes has always been useful tool in ensuring that BN wins in the past getting the soldiers was always done in a covert manner under the guidance of a particular cell within the intelligence community in Mindef. In Bagan Pinang, the army went into full swing and campaign openly. They are no longer worried or no longer being embarrassed.

3.	In Bagan Pinang, evidence has been surfacing in a piecemeal basis that top brass involvement in campaigning among the soldiers. In a speech at IJED, it appears that an officer who is believe to be the camp commandant, openly throw allegiance to the government and the PM. This was recorded on you tube in the presence of Panglima Markas Medan, Defense Minister, Deputy Defense Minister and the MB of N9. Soldiers cheered to the call made by the Minister and the officers on the various promises that they made. Incentives and fear has been injected into the men.

4.	I am not too concern about politicians promises as it expected to be an empty promises. Be it a swimming pool or an enlarged surau or houses we will talk about it when it comes. Otherwise we can just take this promises as empty promises. However, I am particularly concern about the involvement of military officers in the election. It seems the contest is not between BN the political party and PR but between the Malaysian Government and PR. Information from friends showed that Middle rung and junior officers were given the responsibility to dishing out RM300 to each soldier. Apparently they receive orders from the top.

5.	The “Panglima Medan” has no business to be attending any political campaign under whatever disguises function it may be. The Commander has no business to throw allegiance behind the PM or anyone else. Our allegiance as a soldier is to the King and the country. The army should have stayed neutral. It is quite obvious that the Mindef top brass has no balls or their balls are kept safely by someone. To these officers who have betrayed the country, the people and the King, they should resign. There is no two way about. If I ever see the Panglima Medan, I will spit on his face in front of his man and by doing that I am honoring the country and the King.

6.	BN won this election because of Army involvement, Isa samad popularity and PR loose political cohesion. The Indian vote’s swings to BN contribute significantly. It was reported that BN won in all 8 polling streams. This means that even the young population in the area also did not support PR. I would assume the majority of the young voters that were internet savvy and would be living in KL or in other major towns. Those who stayed back were few of them and the probability of having internet access is low.

7.	This election is a good election for a case study. There are lessons that can be learn for both parties. PAS needs to show that it can strengthen PR. I think in a way some PAS members head has outgrown their skull cap. Measures must be taken to enhance the transparency of political votes. Any abuse of power must be stemmed fairly. PR must consider setting up a dedicated team of people to monitor and records all the abuses done by the BN government.

8.	For BN, I am sure they are still celebrating but it would not last as tranquility of the PD beach will soon rocked in waves from two political camps in UMNO N9. BN need to watch out as they have now officially endorsed “political corruption” as a way of life which they have been denying all this while.

9. To the Armed Forces top brass that was involved in the politics of Bagan Pinang direct or indirectly, I have only one thing to say; YOU ARE TRAITORS AND A DISGRACE TO THE NATION, RESIGN NOW!

MCA: The final curtain

1.	The 101010 EGM that took place yesterday at Wisma MCA has produced a result which was not anticipated by many quarters. Many had predicted that the delegates would either choose between OTK or CSL and about a week ago, theories of hidden hand is at play to ensure a fresh group of people with lead the party.

2.	Some even said that UMNO is the hand behind the hidden hand in MCA because they are fed up with MIC and MCA failure to deliver their part. They tried it with Samy Vellu but failed and with MCA as well. CSL is preferred choice compared to OTK because the latest revelation involving PKFZ that has embarrassed the government.

3.	OTK is famous for his bluntness. CSL is famous for his sex scandal. Personality wise OTK appears to be no nonsense kind of person with clear principles. It appears that he only want to work with the people of his choice and not the choice of the MCA members. This led to maneuvers to remove CSL which eventually led to the event yesterday.

4.	There are many ways to interpret the results of the EGM. Quite clearly the mainstream and internet media has interpret that that the delegates do not want both of them to remain in the party. If this is a simple game of football and the one with the greater votes (goal), then the outcome is clear. But this is politics and politics are a complicated game.

5.	In analyzing the EGM results, we have to evaluate the outcome in total and not by the specific resolutions. The EGM showed that OTK has about half (49.7%) of the delegates support and 52.4% of the delegates wants CSL to be suspended as well 51.6% does not want him to be the Deputy president. This mean is that OTK still clearly has the support of the members despite the marginal loss compared CSL significant loss. Taken as a whole, OTK is still a winner despite the numbers says otherwise.

6. Both CSL and OTK are man of certain level of principles. CSL has demonstrated it when he handles his sex scandal by taking the bull by its horn. He admitted it was him. He resigned gracefully. He came back by winning despite his disgraceful act. This “China man” has shown that he accept his liability unlike many UMNO members who will contain the damage and continue living with a strong veil of denial.

7.	It must be accepted that OTK is not the kind of character that mince his words. He is a firebrand politician who accept no nonsense but I think he went overboard when he defy the members wish that he should work with CSL. He always says what he feel should be said. In Pandan constituency, he earns the respect of many people from all walk of life and ethnic background.

8.	If we study the way CSL wrote his views in accepting the decision of the delegates, it is quite clearly that CSL has nothing to lose when his supporters ask for the EGM. He was already beaten and ousted and the EGM has actually reinforced that he is not wanted. At the same time, he has got his revenge at OTK.

9.	The next course of actions by the various parties is important. CSL is out. OTK is still the president but has the support of slightly half of the members (or delegates). In MCA, CSL has been contained. He is out of move. In chess, we call this check mate.

10.	OTK may just get a reprieve from the presidential council and may be allowed to lead MCA but my own analysis of the man based on his character and principles, I feel he might just decline. I might be wrong but I believe OTK will place MCA above himself. MCA presidential council will ask him to stay but he will gracefully resign.

11.	If he does not do it, I suspect half of MCA members will walk out with CSL or will not cooperate in MCA agenda. This would mean the premature demise of MCA. The next general election is in about 2-3 years and if they don’t do the right thing, BN will die naturally. Without a strong MCA and MIC, UMNO will lose all the constituency in major towns. PR will win and I truly believe that 1-Malaysia will emerged after that.

1. I had a lengthy phone call with my former commander in the Army today with regards to his writing in his blog. In his blog he mentioned non specifically about a regimental day function at Sungala camp as well as Isa Samad campaigning within the perimeter of an army camp in PD. Surprised!, I am not.

2. In our discussion he mentioned that a unit called 2nd Armor having their Anniversary Celebration in the early part of the week. The program was attended by the Minister of Defense, Deputy Chief of Army and many top brasses from Mindef. Obviously the regimental night serves two purposes; the first is to justify the Minister of Defense expenses claims for spending time in PD as well as giving Isa Samad the much needed platform to do his campaigning.

3. It was also reported that couple of mid rank officers escorted Isa in his campaigning among civilians in another camp. It seems the matter was reported in The Sun newspaper. I tried to search for the article but could not find it.

4. Malaysiakini reported that PAS members has evidence that the Defense Minister even promises money for Surau upgrading in their camp in the tune of RM100,000. In another article soldiers that attended the declaration that PD is to be relabeled as “The Army Town” was given RM300 per person.

5. Despite the blatant abuse of election rules, the EC “has no evidence” to disqualify Isa. They were not around when these events took place. That explains for the lack of evidence. Daily complains by PAS members to EC were taken lightly as there is a credibility issue on the complainant and the evidence that they produced!

6. At the rate the Malaysian Government (in particularly) MINDEF is campaigning in PD, the chances that BN is going to lose is remote. In fact if they don’t win big I don’t know what to say. Because of this by-election, the school will close for two days for Depavali; a huge signboard was erected to show the upcoming housing scheme for the poor Indians in PD. Over and above of that a piece of Temple land which was acquired by the state was returned back to the Indian community. In PD, the Indians are “Anak Emas”

7. I have mentioned previously that the soldiers will be primed, warned and advice to vote for BN. All this hard and soft campaigning is being done by the Army top brass via their field commanders and intelligence officers. Reports are surfacing that, soldiers begins to worry as the likelihood that they will be “taken care off” in the event they crossed the wrong person. The top brass will play ball as they don’t have balls to stand up to their political masters. Otherwise, when they retire they will become like General Sani, a total nobody despite being a respected soldier’s soldier.

8. This by-election would probably serve the best case study where people can learn on how to win election on uneven playing ground. Political corruption, abuse of power, enforcing threats and giving goodies are the order of the day. I don’t really blame our boys in uniform as, “Saya menurut perintah, Tuan”.

“Kalau tak monang bosar, tak tahu la apo la nak di kato!”

Btw, enjoy the video… which represent honor!

1.	This morning I left home at 725 am and was greeted by a humongous traffic congestion which started inside Bukit Antarabangsa itself at the Giant Supermarket. As usual, my gut reaction told me that here we go again; traffic is normalizing to its usual pattern on MRR2.

2.	Immediately I started sending SMS to Ampang OCPD, Ampang Traffic Head and to the DIGP. After 23 minutes I reached the foothill of Bukit Antarabangsa where the road meets the MRR2. At the same time I receive a call from DSP Nordin of the Ampang Police Station asking me to come to Jalan Kolam Ayer/MRR 2 slip road. He told me that the police, MPAJ and JPJ is trying out my proposal and people are screaming on top of their lungs. Reporters are everywhere.

3.	It took me another 20 minutes to reach the site. I decided to veer off from my normal route and start to drive along JKAL, Jalan Memanda 9, 10, 11 and 1. What I saw was that my proposal was implemented partially. JKR had not turf the road. MPAJ did not put up direction sign boards. The public was not notified. The police and the MPAJ traffic warden was everywhere.

4.	The MRR2 and DUKE were packed. People from Taman TAR were driving out smiling at a good speed. The same cannot be said for people exiting MRR2 at JKAL junction to go into elevated highway. The junction was clogged with drivers who were confused on where they should go despite the road was made one way. People slowed down due to poor road conditions as well as due to the fact that they were confused. As anticipated Jalan Memanda 1, 9 and 11 was not affected. Traffic was smooth.

5.	My quick 20 minutes analysis at the site this morning revealed that there were several reasons why the proposal did not took off as smooth as it should have been. I penned down my reasons and wrote to OCPD Ampang, DSP Nordin, YDP of MPAJ and the DIGP. Among others the reasons were:

a.	JKR did not resurface the road at the various points I had highlighted earlier.
b.	The trial was done without public notification. I was in the thick of the action and yet I am not aware. The 10000 cars coming out of Bukit Antarabangsa, Melawati and surrounding areas would not know either. They should have got the media (radio and newspapers) to highlight the impending change. They should have draw the route on made it available in the newspaper at least a week before. Banners should have been placed at strategic points.
c.	At the junction at JKAL/MRR2, JKAL/Memanda 11, Memanda 11/Memanda 9, there was no signboard. People respond better with signboards with direction showing Ampang Point and Kuala Lumpur. Drivers slowed down and asked police for directions.

6.	This morning the road users were not primed. They were caught unprepared. They came to the particular junction and find that their normal route is blocked. They don’t know where to go. They slowed down and asked the police for directions. This is why the congestion was bad and people were shouting on top of their lungs.

7.	I wrote to the Police and told them what need to be done. They have confirmed that they have received my letter. OCPD Ampang informed me that the trial will continue tomorrow. I hope things will improve slightly as drivers now know better. I hope the short comings would be taken care of tomorrow.

8.	Whatever the case maybe, I salute the Ampang Police for their commitment in trying to help the public. I am most grateful that they are willing to commit their resource to try out my suggestion. Certainly there are some shortcomings but I believe things will improved soon.

9.	The DIGP send me and SMS that says “Trust that we are listening and responding”. I salute you and your men. With strong public/police engagement, many problems can be solved. To the road users on MRR2, be patient in the next few days until people get use to the changes. To Ampang police, you have earned my respect.

1.	On the 2nd October 2009, the local media reported that “The mystery over the DNA of “Unknown Male 1″ found on the back of Teoh Beng Hock’s blazer has been solved, the inquest into the death of the 30-year-old political aide was told today”

2.	The sudden revelation by Dr Seah Lay Hong, a serology and DNA specialist with the Chemistry Department that the DNA material found on TBH which was marked as unknown DNA Male 1 matched the DNA of road accident victim M. Gopala. She came to the conclusion after comparing the Male 1 DNA against three of Gopala children.

3.	She concluded that based on statistical analysis on Malaysian Indian population, there is 99.999% probability the Unknown Male 1 is the father of (Gopala’s) three sons. From the latest revelation, it is good to know that the Chemist is working overtime in trying to solve puzzle on the ownership of Unknown Male 1 and Male 2 DNA. It is hope that the mystery of Unknown Male 2 will be solved soon.

4.	The latest revelation raised a lot of questions on the original source of Unknown Male 1 and where it was taken. Based on Dr Seah testimony, the DNA material is found on the belt as well as on the jacket of the deceased. Some questions on how the jacket and the belt came in contact with M Gopala DNA when it was supposedly taken at the crime scene.

5.	I read the Inquest report on the AG Chamber website. On the 3rd day of the proceedings, Dr Seah gave her testimony. In her testimony (page 35) she said that she receives 18 exhibits from ASP Ahmad Nazri on the 21st July 2009 at 250pm. The belt is labeled as item No 17 that she received. The source of materials was labeled with different reference which includes sealed envelopes from Klang Hospital, Sealed envelope PDRM No 392 and sealed envelope from PDRM forensic lab.

6.	The belt came from PDRM No 392 which was probably taken by the I/O at the morgue. That probably led to the contamination of evidence. It was good that Dr Seah were able to narrow down the possible source of contamination of evidence and solve the mystery but I believe, in the eyes of the general public, there is some kind of conspiracy involves here. While solving the death is paramount importance but I believe it is also equally important for the government to regain the public trust on the various institutions.

7.	It is in the best interest of the government, that an independent DNA expert that is agreeable by both the family and the government be called to evaluate the validity of Dr Seah latest finding of Unknown Male 1. This would bring back public confidence into the system.

8.	With the assumption that Dr Seah latest testimony is correct, it really raised questions on how our hospitals do their post mortem which led to cross contamination of evidence. I wonder how many previous death mysteries remain unsolved due to the weakness in the morgue procedures which led to cross contamination of evidence. The hospital is responsible in fuelling people’s mind with suspicion and wasted the Chemistry Department resources. However the fact remains that the probability that TBH committed suicide is extremely very remote and there is a very strong probability that he died from the action of unseen hands at MACC Shah Alam based on other evidence found at the scene of the crime.
