It’s stupid of Umno to play politic at this point of time . Well hope voters of KT will show again and again on what UMNO doing wrong .
Dear fellow readers
I have just received news from a state Exco that the Federal JKR had refused to released the Federal JKR initial assessment of Bukit Antarabangsa landslide situation tomorrow (18/12/2008) to the state government as initially agreed.
The Federal JKR will only release to Zin, the JKR minister and he will make the the announcement. This is what I meant by unhealthy politics. The MB has gone and informed the resident that he will informed us on Friday (1000am) with the JKR report and state plan. Now without the information, the MB will not be able to release the information as promised. Now the state plans now will be disrupted
There is a need to release the report to the State Government as soon as possible so that State Government can analyze and make necessary plans and informed judgment. This new action will make things looks bad for the State Government.
I cannot accept this action. JKR is a government agency and does not belong to the Minister or to UMNO/BN. The right thing to do is to release report to the state in a timely manner so that the state can also plan their next course of action.
Both the federal and state government must work in cooperation and not in competition. In my earlier writings, I have mentioned the need to stop the politicking.
Now, I appeal to UMNO members in Bukit Antarabangsa- Please go and tell your UMNO JKR Minister stop playing politics. Release the report to the State Government, so that they can plan accordingly for the good of ALL OF US, the resident of Bukit Antarabangsa. What a shame….
Dr Rafick
keep up your good work focusing on the humanitarian Dr. Rafik, you & your team will be blessed in return.
May all who are affected find the extraordinary strength to go through this difficult time in moving forward.
Rafick,
If you need an open source disaster management system (SAHANA), here’s where you can get it. http://www.sahana.lk/
“Sahana is a Free and Open Source Disaster Management system. It is a web based collaboration tool that addresses the common coordination problems during a disaster from finding missing people, managing aid, managing volunteers, tracking camps effectively between Government groups, the civil society (NGOs) and the victims themselves.”
If you need assistance in deploying the system, let me know and I will help.
It’s not easy to co-ordinate during a disaster and having a good system goes a long way to do it less painfully.
Rgds,
Molly
p.s. I advocate for the use of open source technology for ICT as a tool in health care.
