1. The NFC (National Feedlot Center) story hit the news again after the Auditor General highlighted the directionless of the project. I have written about this previously under the heading “Where’s the beef”. The lines that separates the various entities i.e. NFC (? JV between NS State and MOA) and the National Livestock Corporation Sdn Bhd and Agro Science Industries Sdn Bhd (AISB) is very blur. I don’t really understand on how a private entity is allowed to use the name “National…” which gives an impression it is a government owned. Was it done intentionally?
2. The AG report highlighted a few points. Among others, only 3,289 cattle being produced last year compared to the projected number of 8,000 cattle. The development of 130 satellite farmers has also failed to take off as planned. I have my doubt that the farm actually produced 3,289 cattle last year. I suspect that is the number of cattle that was brought in from Australia, being fattened and then slaughtered for meat market.
3. The objective of NFC is to reduced beef import and saves on foreign currency exchange. What is the point of importing animals from Australia and put them on the farm for few months before being slaughtered. We have not addressed the basic issues which is reducing the dependency of import.
4. Any responsible government must look at this issue objectively. Clearly AISB and NLC Sdn Bhd have failed. Why did they fail despite getting a generous financial assistance? I suspect that the answer is simple i.e. the project is driven by people without good industry knowledge and they probably has a different agenda. The beef show was merely a front.
5. I hope when the PAC looks into this matter, they will look beyond the financial issues where they need address the concerns on how public funds are being used in an unwise manner and the failure to meet “national” objectives.

welcome back doc..
they say on the internet. dun say goodbye cause 90% of the time you will come back
btw this NFC project is daylight robbery. latest news is that the people involved )sharizat’s daughter) is gonna sell the whole thing to Felda. get their cash, clean their hands from the debt.
it is rather unfair when these ppl can get projects milion million harga so easily. My friend who runs a franchise kindee business day in day out working her ass off to ensure her PNS loan and other debts are serviced. She as any ordinary rakyat serves her country responsibly, with sweat and tears, while these cronies just take so easily their shares of Rojects of Millions without any sense or sensibility. Sedih lah.
Welcome back doc.
Really like you new tagline; “I Have Returned”. Welcome back Doc.
Just knew that you gonna write something about this topic since you had written few articles on this. Its gonna be really sad if you go back to hibenate again; as people or voters need to be constantly informed on the abuses and wrongdoings of the current government.
So “General MacArthur”, soldier on and fight these malpractices.
thats how UMNO works.
plunder plunder plunder
why will the rural Malays wake up to this fact.
For all the Malay first mantra, the ones suffering the most are the Malays.
The old UMNO headed by men of undoubted integrity are long gone. It is now helmed by opportunist, corrupt and law-abusing individuals. So are the once august institutions now reduced to mere UMNO tools with no regards for the laws. If not how can you explain deaths within MACC office and the perpetrators still roaming free? Judges going on holidays with lawyers and remain free despite RCI findings? Fabrication of evidence by AG office against senior cops who dared to stand up for the nation? The dirty laundry list goes on.
With the scales of lootings, deliberate mismanagement, wastage…and etc. With the economy continued sliding down. Malaysia is lucky because we still have oil money to cover up the big hole!
The debts has hit RM407b! Plus RM50b MRT projects and various mega projects, not long the figures will reach RM500b. Every year we have budget deficits. It won’t take long to reach RM1 Trillion.
AG’s reports show plenty of lootings and deliberate mismanagement. RM3.7b overspent or lootings per AG’s report. The truth figures might need to multiply few times.
Year on year they said they would act on AG’s reports and take actions. Have you seen any one prosecuted and gone to jail??? None??
No accountability and actions on spending and lootings, how long can Malayisa’s financial last???? When do you think Malaysia would need to request a bailout???
All projects from UMNO is to create fast money for the cronies. Over the years, they have mastered all the skills of fast money, some are very creative too.
Those are “Cash Cow” roaming the field, why look at the cash cow and doing nothing about it. These cronies are not thinking about long term investment or entrepreneurship in the beef industry. They have to continue pump in money so that cows will bring in calf and calf becomes cows eventually. Lambat sangat lah… lagi kena tunggu lama lama dan sangat membazir duit.
One fine morning, the cronies woke up shouting “Holly Cow!”. Instead of looking at those cows roaming up and down the fields, it is like looking at Ringgit Malaysia roaming in front of you daily. Boleh tengok, tak boleh pakai. Time to cash in the “Cash Cow”.
Why not, cash in to become rich and wait for the next project.
“Cash Cow”
From wiki “Risks of a cash cow include complacency, with management ignoring the need for change as market forces erode value.”
I don’t know what you call this but our “satu lagi project …..” doesn’t have the risk as mentioned, seem like we are living in a mad mad world, perhaps due to eating too many mad cow?
