I was at my farm the whole day today working on a fun farm project. Suddenly I felt it is time for me to say Good Bye or Selamat Tinggal to all my readers and the commentators in this blog. There has been 2,087 mill visitors since I started blogging and it has been a journey of different sorts.Certainly, I have made a lot of friends and maybe some enemies which is due to my blogging activities. It has been educational, fun and a good adventure for me. Mentally and intellectually it has been simulating and challenging.

Before anyone speculate on the reasons of me quitting, allow me to set the record straight. There isn’t any specific reasons or coercion by any party. I felt it is time for me to stop. There is no pressure from any parties. On my political conviction, I must stress that I feel strongly about balance of power. On specific issues with regards to economy and nationhood, I believe I have said my piece many time.
-
Therefore, I would like to say Thank you, Danke, Terima kasih, 谢谢, நன்றி to all my readers and commentators. I value your comment and treasure your friendship. Hopefully, we could organize a group “kopi” drinking association and I hope one day I will meet every single one of the readers and especially the regular commentators. Good bye.
Auf Wiedersehen… Good Bye

Stir over Bangladesh website saying citizens can vote as Malaysians
September 17, 2011
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — A Bangladesh Prime Minister’s Office unit website has claimed that its citizens working in Malaysia have been asked to vote for the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) government, prompting PKR vice-president Fuziah Salleh to call for a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) into the contentious issue.
The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) had recently demanded an emergency sitting of Parliament to debate its claim that thousands of permanent residents have been given citizenship and the right to vote “in the blink of an eye” and the Bangladesh website quoted appears to have backed up its claim.

“We want a royal commission of inquiry to investigate Bangladesh Prime Minister’s statement over this matter. If it has actually happened, Najib must be responsible and provide an explanation,” Fuziah told her party’s Keadilan Daily website.
According to the NGO Affairs Bureau of the Prime Minister’s Office website, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met her Malaysian counterpart Datuk Seri Najib Razak last year where they discussed “long standing issues, including legalising Bangladeshi workers in Malaysia”.
Both met while attending the 66th World Islamic Economic Forum in Kuala Lumpur in May 2010.
It said highly-placed sources claimed that during the meeting, Najib assured Sheikh Hasina of considering the issue of legalising Bangladeshi workers to Malaysia country with utmost sincerity.
“Today, prime minister’s office has allegedly received a confirmation from some of our citizens those working in several sectors in Malaysia since last year that they were given more than citizenships from Malaysian Government. In fact they now have been given a right to be a voter in upcoming Malaysian’s general election.
“Another highly placed source from prime minister’s office has confirmed that Bangladeshi workers may easily conferred Malaysian citizenship with the condition to vote for party that represents the government in power,” the website said.
The website also reported Sheikh Hasina as urging her people” to take this opportunity in order to lower the national poverty in line with government’s initiative and numerous measures to solve all major problems, including power and gas crises”.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said last month that “baseless” allegations of foreigners being given the right to vote will be addressed by the parliamentary select committee (PSC) on electoral reform.
He said that although “the allegations have already been proven in most cases to be untrue,” the National Registration Department (NRD) has engaged the Election Commission (EC) to answer PR’s claim that at least 1,600 foreigners have been added to the electoral roll.
“These allegations, which I believe are baseless … this (the PSC) is the best platform for us. We have a co-operation (between the NRD and EC) to clean if there is a need to clean and to answer any claims that need to be answered,” he told reporters on August 17.
The bipartisan PSC, which will be formed in the October sitting of Parliament, will likely see PR raise its claim that BN has granted foreigners citizenships in exchange for their support in a general election that must be called by early 2013.

always in my top list…will miss your writing..
The most valued development of Malaysia media and internet base journalism / blog is they are becoming more open and receptive to topic that is taboo in the past, in my view, the pioneer like Pillai and Petra play a great role to achieve this.
When I were young, I recall most family member and elders choose not to talk about 513, communist, race, religion and monarchy, and hmmm….perhaps sex as well. I see huge changes in the last 10 years when everyone is not afraid to state their opinion on this issue, though at the same time we are getting more politically correct and sensitive, a sign that we are marching toward a more mature and progressive society? I hope so. To me, if the people are willing to talk and write about it, then it is an indication that there is urges to communicate and to understand each other, i believe this is a better version of perpaduan.
Among the many blog, I think rafick r2w stand out as one of the most open, and surprisingly, the comment remain decent and civilize most of the time though rafick seldom perform deletion and censure, unless something get overboard after numerous repeated reminders (the same do happen during MT earlier days), the lesson we learn is that most people are reasonable and have no problems to figure out rights and wrongs eventually no matter how emotional the debate and argument lead to.
Everyone treasure intelligence discourse but at the same time, we shall appreciate view that sound less intelligent, or contrarian, or dissenting, or childish as long as it is an sincere opinion from a person, unless he is proven to be trolling repeatedly, we shall allow him to voice his view, and I think rafick is doing great in this context.
All good things will end, but I hope rafick should reassess his decision, perhaps cease writing for a while, and post us some interesting article and let the commenters a freehand to comment as they wish to, me curious, would this lead to chaos?
I was kind of surprised and sad! ????????
Today it was my first time came back to your blog after a short break. I have just bid final fareware and respect to my mum a week ago.
