I was at my farm the whole day today working on a fun farm project. Suddenly I felt it is time for me to say Good Bye or Selamat Tinggal to all my readers and the commentators in this blog. There has been 2,087 mill visitors since I started blogging and it has been a journey of different sorts.Certainly, I have made a lot of friends and maybe some enemies which is due to my blogging activities. It has been educational, fun and a good adventure for me. Mentally and intellectually it has been simulating and challenging.

Before anyone speculate on the reasons of me quitting, allow me to set the record straight. There isn’t any specific reasons or coercion by any party. I felt it is time for me to stop. There is no pressure from any parties. On my political conviction, I must stress that I feel strongly about balance of power. On specific issues with regards to economy and nationhood, I believe I have said my piece many time.

Therefore, I would like to say Thank you, Danke, Terima kasih, 谢谢, நன்றி to all my readers and commentators. I value your comment and treasure your friendship. Hopefully, we could organize a group “kopi” drinking association and I hope one day I will meet every single one of the readers and especially the regular commentators. Good bye.

I came across your blog by accident thru a link, apanama… sudah tak ingat macam mana. Mudah lupa.
Here is what I like:
1. It is wordpress. The article and the comment is on the same page. It allows long winded, nagging and whining comments. I am not really fond of blogspot
with the pop-up window for comments. Fonts size and layout is pleasing to the eyes too.
2. Article is in depth, somehow it leaves an open ended encouragement for responds. Most other blogs is about bitching.
3. My post is reflected immediately, unlike others, has to wait for approval from the host. That is what makes it intense, waiting for approvals calms a person down or make makes the commentators forget about it.
4. Democratic views, I do disagree with some of the posts. Debate on the issue really adds a wider perspective on the underlaying matter. Of course, we have master spinners whom tried to deviate us from the issue. They have their own agenda for doing so. I am glad that these master spinners were put at bay with helps from various commentators whom are focus on the core issue.
5. First attempt, if I can recall correctly that Doc were pretty upset with the stress that was given by the commentators. Good work went unappreciated and no pay. Somehow, coaxed into it again. Doc, you have given your service to the nation while in military. As a civilian, continue to provide service to nation by using R2W blog. I really hope this is your second attempt, if it is a deva ju on the same matter. Some blind partisan supporters will claim victory from the battlefield from your retreat.
Nevertheless, I have to thank Doc for setting up this blog and continuously supplying us with up todate matters to debate on. With the followings or inputs from the commentators and readers, it really makes it a worthwhile journey.

Strange, of late i too dont feel like writing as much.:-) Nevertheless doc It has been an interesting journey with your blog. When I first came about this blog I was taken in by your independence in asking the political parties to compete for the interest of a group. Many then were against it but i defended you to the hilt for the idea you espoused. And as time passes that is probably among the few things we could agree upon.:-)
But the journey has been satisfying to me. Unlike other blogs you wrote what you think and defended your stand. Most others are copy paste. That’s why you could dig deep. At most time I thought you had to be in the industry to know the facts. Like the water and Islamic banking issues. Unless you’re in the industry you would not know of it but somehow you managed to grasp them. In that I find it stimulating. Between us alone on water for example we went for hundreds of responses. And all the while I learned a number of things. I am most happy if I learn even a small bit.
Another feature i like which I have already mentioned is your openness to contrarion views. You did not censor unlike 99.9% of the blogs. This has led to healthy debate. If you look carefully the commentators approach and writing have much more substance and respect than it was before. I used to remember I had to deal most of the time with cheap potshots and personal vitriol. Now it’s much much less. Its augurs well of this blog and commentators here. And because of this I’ve encountered highly intelligent learned and principled commentators. Apart from thanking you I would like to specifically thank S18, Hua Yong, Nazrul HISHAM, rocko, katakini, amus (only on lynas), sb4s (banned already), AK and probably a couple more which slipped my mind for the interesting and thought provoking engagement. Probably we should have a Teh Tarik session in the near future.
Thanks doc. I hope whatever you wish to do with your blog you maintain the two features mentioned above. Better still you do like loyal burok providing a platform for people to put forth and test their views and defend the same. Some of the people I mention can write really well and can contribute immensely towards a more democratic debate. Wish you all the best and thank you for providing the most democratic platform.

Youre right. I will use a different approach. Realize that pro pr blogs cannot accept contrarion view. Those who support pr can de disdainful condescending and resort to name calling. When I respond in equal measure they ban and censor me. Din Merican went the furthest. Whatever I write which were published before for a period were totally deleted. These people don’t give a chance to defend but condemn so much of our judiciary. Allow people to besmirch reputation without a right to reply. This is the VERY reason why Dr Rafick is not continuing with his blogging. The very same reason why I went into “hiding”; guess we got tired with goons like you. Yeah, its name calling. I am not siding Ellese or others, but names calling is definitely not for this matured blog. (Name calling) Once is understandable, twice is forgivable, thrice is pushing it, but doing it repeatedly had only showed that you are a compulsive abuser!.
You could be angry on “something” (specific subject or somebody). If that happens, my one last advice; “when angry, stop what you are doing (blog or comment for that matter!)”
