Every time I see Ibrahim Ali face flash in the MSM or hear he speaks in parliament, I ends up feeling irritated. Ibrahim Ali does not have a pleasant face or a good voice which does not make a him a lovable person among Malaysian. His voice and unattractive looks is probably the only thing common thing between him and me.Both of us do not have P. Ramlee voice!

-
While party less Ibrahim Ali can only be trusted to serve his own needs, he does have a major following when he starts talking about protecting the Malay rights. The question that is always on my mind whether the Malay Rights is being threatened? The special position of the Malays is enshrined in Article 153 of the Federal Constitution. No one can change that unless someone decides to change the constitution. Anyone in the right frame of mind will not do that as it is a threat to the national security.
-
Clearly there has been no threat to the Malay Rights but of a case of the non Malay being denied of their rights of being a Malaysian. In many instances, non Malays in this country are treated as a second class citizens. That is a facts. In reality is that the non Malays are now asking why they are not being accommodated as a Malaysian and they are not asking to take away the Malay rights.
-
Ibrahim Ali and politicians like him twisted facts and presented one sided version of his story. They had the advantage of the MSM on their side. Truly many Malays that I talk too who are educated and live in the cities do not buy what he says. It is the gullible Malays who did not think it through that reacts to what Ibrahim Ali is saying.
-
Is Islam as the official religion of this country under threat? Again the same argument applies. If in the 50′s and the 60′s the Christians , Hindus and the Buddhist can set up their prayer house at approved sites but today it is not the case. It was not too long ago that in Shah Alam, Hindu Temple had to be relocated despite being located quite a distant away from houses on the ground of being sensitive. In Selayang, a church had to build provided that it looks like a multi-purpose hall in a commercial areas. This is the basic provision of the constitution which the non Muslim rights have been denied.
-
From my research apart from development needs , no Mosque has been demolished. I would not be wrong to say that people has been freely setting up Surau’s in many residential areas. In some places they are located at an inappropriate area. Clearly, the religion is not under threat.
-
What we see is a group of self serving politicians who just wants to ensure their survival. They are not interested to look after the best interest of Malaysian as a whole. If UMNO and its political allies continue the current trend of doing things, they will see them selves be booted out by the people. People of all races who lived in the cities will reject them. In the rural areas, they will lose the support from the majority of non Malays and a small proportion of the Malays. The net effect would be UMNO losing many electoral seats.
- Seriously, I don’t understand what UMNO think- tank are doing. They are not bringing the people closer to them but pushing the people away with their acidic approaches. I am not sure it is enough time for UMNO to regain the peoples trust before the next election. Ibrahim Ali and his antics actually do more harm for UMNO. In Kelantan, UMNO is shooting themselves in their foot for their action of not giving the oil rights of the State to them. Somehow, I don’t know why they don’t see it.

This Ibrahim bastard looks like an idiot. He talk without using his brain because he has no brain. He his the father of all Racist, useless scumbags.
Dear Dr. Rafick / Capt and the Others,
Care to ponder on this…?
TANAH MELAYU FORMERLY NAMED BARR CHIN By Michael Chick
Michael Chick goes back to old Arabic maps to find that Tanah Melayu was actually called Barr Chin or Tanah China. So who is the Pendatang?
The Great Tanah Melayu Debate
Malaysia Today,
Wednesday, 02 December 2009 admin-s
We hear UMNO’s cries for “Brain Gain”, caused by excruciating “Brain Drain”, in the wake of hundreds of thousands of Malaysians who are fleeing their country. We’ve heard the many alleged reasons provided from both sides of the fence. One of the strongest seems to be the fact that UMNO is asking all “pendatangs” to leave the country if they are not happy.
By Michael Chick
Well, Robert Kwok certainly did just that. And along with him, his entire businesses worth billions in “Tax Drain”. BTN has also been copiously assisting, by enthusiastically brainwashing simple minds into thinking that “Tanah Melayu” is reserved for Orang Melayu. Of course, they quickly tell you that anyone can become an Orang Melayu by speaking, dressing, and behaving like one (whatever that means, who knows?).
Well, UMNO managed to achieve one thing. The BTN-type morons, and their predecessors, have been overwhelmingly successful in brainwashing todays’ 27 million citizens. Who says that the Peninsular was ALWAYS called “Tanah Melayu”? This is a recent British Term!! Let me dedicate this Article to the foremost “so-called reknown Historian” of the country. Prof Dr Emeritus Khoo Khay Khim (and anyone else who claims to be as competent in History as well).
Prior to “Tanah Melayu” being a British Tag in the 19th century, the peninsular was formerly known as Malacca in the 15th century. The newly-renamed book “Sejarah Melayu” (previously known as “Asal-Usul Raja-Raja”) mentions every other place from India to China, including the tiny-speck-of- dirt called Temasik EXCEPT “Tanah Melayu”. Why was Tanah Melayu NEVER MENTIONED in Sejarah Melayu? Simple!! Because that was not it’s name!!
Tanah Melayu was NEVER the name until the British came and colonized the Peninsular.
(please see map below)
Since UMNO has a habit of believing that “whatever is older is better”, let’s take a short walk down this slippery slope of history. (Also, BTN-Baru syllabus planners should start taking notes.)
For starters, “Malaya” in Tagalog means “Peaceful” (go ask your Pinoy maid).
“Malai” means “Hill” in Tamil; as in “mini-Himalaya” to describe the Titiwangsa Range on the said Peninsular since the 2nd century by the Gujerati Traders who helped the local Malays set up their formidable Hindu Empire at Lembah Bujang.

Only in the 19th Century was The Peninsular known as “Tanah Melayu”.
In the 15th Century, the Peninsular was known by no other name than “The Malacca Peninsular”.
Before “that Rebel-Indonesian Guy” came over here (look, he wanted to kill his own father; what else do you want me to call Parameswara? ), the Peninsular was known as “Barr Kra” in the 10th Century. Before that, the Peninsular was known as the “Golden Chersonese” since the 2nd Century.
“Golden Chersonese is the ancient name to refer to the Malay Peninsula by Claudius Ptolemy or Claudius Ptolemaeus (Greek: ; c. 90 – c.. 168). Known in English as Ptolemy, he was a Greek-speaking geographer, astronomer, and astrologer. During Roman times, the Malay Peninsula developed an international reputation as a source of gold; hence the name was given.”
By the way, “Barr” simply means “Land” in the Persian Language. And Barr Kra above, means “Land of Kra” (as in reference to the Isthmus of Kra).
But I’ve saved the best for last, as usual. And I hope all you soon-to-be “Brain Gain” people are sitting down reading this ….
The earliest known Arabic Maps refer to the Peninsular as “Barr CHIN”.
Where Chin refers to CHINA! Why did the Arabs call this Peninsular “Tanah China” instead of “Tanah Melayu”? When Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. spoke about “Exotic Tanah China”, was he actually refering to Malaya? After all, according to records, Malayan Gold Mines was already famous 500 years BEFORE the Prophet was born!! As his wife, Khadijah was a Great Trader. He must have known!
Footnote: Chin is spelt “Xin” by the Portuguese, but always pronounced as Chin.
Alright, it’s now public!! The oldest known Arab Maps called the Peninsular “Barr Chin”; which translates to “Tanah China”, or “Land of Chinese”. BTN can now implement this new found knowledge into their syllabus. You cannot deny that you don’t know it now! Perhaps if you spoke Hokkien, dressed like a Hokkien, and practised Hokkien Customs, the Hokkiens might be gracious enough to accept you. Sounds absurd? Absolutely; and so does the other “Great Race-Changing Trick” practised by UMNO. And I quote Prof Dr Anthony Milner (ANU), “If it’s so easy to join a race, it must be equally easy to ‘un-join’ that race …”
Alright, Prof Khoo, your turn now …
This will be the first exercise in “Brain Gain” which UMNO is allegedly proposing, for the greater good of 1Malaysia; plus, I’ll even give you a hint: (because I’m nice and assume that you actually really, really, really, don’t know ….)
It’s a Dark Green Hardcover Book about an inch thick; usually reserved for Academicians like yourself. So you won’t find it in Popular, MPH, Wiki, Amazon or any Pasar Malam. I’m sure that Great Historians like yourself, have your own Jstor Account number.
Unfortunately, it’s written in English, so UMNO people cannot possibly understand it; because, as they say it so eloquently, “…that English sounds like strange babbling ….” So be nice, Prof, and please translate it for them. And in my best Manglish, “Can translate or not? Please?”
Me? I’ll take a nice stroll over to the Royal Netherlands Institute of Southeast Asian and Caribbean Studies here in Leiden, to read more on this ….. I’d better put on a Jacket too, it’s a little nippy today.
“Doei!!” Pronounced, ‘do-we’ in Dutch.

The Chola dynasty (Tamil: சோழர் குலம், IPA: ['t͡ʃoːɻə]) was a Tamil dynasty which was one of the longest-ruling in some parts of southern India. The earliest datable references to the dynasty are in inscriptions from the 3rd century BC left by Asoka, a northern ruler; the dynasty continued to reign over varying territory until the 12th century AD.
The heartland of the Cholas was the fertile valley of the Kaveri River, but they ruled a significantly larger area at the height of their power from the later half of the 9th century till the beginning of the 13th century.[1] Under Rajaraja Chola I and his son Rajendra Chola I, the dynasty became a military, economic and cultural power in South Asia and South-east Asia.[2][3] During the period 1010–1200, the Chola territories stretched from the islands of the Maldives in the south to as far north as the banks of the Godavari River in Andhra Pradesh.[4] Rajaraja Chola conquered peninsular South India, annexed parts of what is now Sri Lanka and occupied the islands of the Maldives.[3] Rajendra Chola sent a victorious expedition to North India that touched the river Ganga and defeated the Pala ruler of Pataliputra, Mahipala. He also successfully invaded kingdoms of the Malay Archipelago.[5][6] The Chola dynasty went into decline at the beginning of the thirteenth century with the rise of the Pandyas, who ultimately caused their downfall.[7][8][9]
The Cholas left a lasting legacy. Their patronage of Tamil literature and their zeal in building temples have resulted in some great works of Tamil literature and architecture.[3] The Chola kings were avid builders and envisioned the temples in their kingdoms not only as places of worship but also as centres of economic activity.[10][11] They pioneered a centralised form of government and established a disciplined bureaucracy

dr,
,,,guess we should be writng about “Malaysian Rights and Religious Rights” so as not to fall into the Dewarajas’ trap again and again !.
,,,i notice the stupid trend of the ‘lost leadership’ going back to the ‘confused kris’ via their active involvement in Silat Seni Gayong M’sia Association and I hope the Police and appropriate Authorities would take notice of such events cos. of the hazardous nature of such activities. Do they obtained the necassary police permit to bring along such dangerous weapon in public ?. If not, please arrest all those involved. Its NOT right.
,,,the lame PM is stirring shit again during it last dinner function in K.L. together with that stupid unprincipled fellow who was forced to quit PKR over the ‘Allah’ non issue.
,,,making matter worse is mdm Piggy presently corrupting the young Girl Guides and Girls Scouts mindset with politics and racial conotation, reminding the Malaysian Girl Guides Association about its so deemed racial monopolisation as an issue, which has never been an issue in the 1st place. Gee !.
,,,my advise to the PM and his wife, both of you better watch out on the way you guys are mismanaging and carrying yourselves for the sake of the nation. Its getting sickening and unbecoming by the day. The whole wide world is also watching and please don’t make a joke out of us Malaysian.
i rest my case
I agree and concur that we must write “Malaysian Rights and Religious Rights” I will write something along this line.. Thanks capt

Doc,
“Malaysian Malaysia, Malaysia Rights and Religious
Rights”- The beauty of Malaysia is in the diversity of the various races and religions. We have Malays, Chinese, Indians, Sikhs, Kadazans, Dayaks and others with different religions. Harmony will come when we live together and learn to accept the diversity ; equal but different. This talk about 1 Malaysia race is nonsense. Just like a man and a woman ; we accept the policy of equality but yet a man is different from a woman.
dr,
,,,The reality of my simple life and living in Malaysia i.e. from the color blind eyes of an apolitical guy plus a firm believer of that all religions do spreads kindness, forgiveness and peace, which the world needs badly. And not naive, to be aware that politically-made laws and wishes can occasionally turn society upside down as they have done so in history. Just again get the politics of our politicians out of the equation, just turn to God, Culture and Humanity for all perpetuators of wars and bloodshed have clearly turned their backs to God.
,,,Indeed now back to our main subject issue, Malaysia is a melting pot of people from all walks of life, various races and origins. A “rojak” bunch if you don’t mind me saying i.e. “mixed salad”. Her population consists of an interesting mix of Malays, Chinese, Indians, Eurasian, Sikh, Iban, Kadazan, Dayaks i.e. all natives tribes combined together, Orang aslis or Aboriginies in Malaya and others of many other uncountable/unknown/yet un-name ethnic communities. !!.
,,,Despite of all of these plus melange of cultures and unique traditions, mutual respect and tolerance are the special qualities that bind all Malaysian together as one.
,,,These diversity of cultures in Malaysia is evident in the colourful spectrum of traditions, festivals and most interestingly cuisines for all to taste and enjoy. Due to population density plus her historical background, Islam is the official religion, however, other religions are being practised freely. Malaysian from various races and cultural backgrounds practise Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, Sikhism and other faiths. A belief in God makes society more wholesome. God’s teaching and grace makes the world a better place too.
,,,This multiracial population has given rise to many beautiful and charming places of worship. One can appreciate the beauty of the various Mosques, Buddhist and Taoist, Indian and Sikh temples, Thai wats and Churches of different denominations dotting the streets and country sites of Malaysia. It is not impossible to actually find within the same places where mosque, temples, church co-exist along the same street, if not even side by side too. Just stroll along such places at Jalan Masjid Kapitan Kling in Penang, Jalan Tokong in Malacca or Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur plus many locations in Ipoh.
,,,Indeed, with so many interesting cultures co-existing in harmony within her shores, Malaysia and Malaysian naturally boasts a myriad of festivals celebrated throughout the year. The major festivals are Aidilfitri (Eid-ur-Fitr), Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Christmas, Vasakhi, Gawai Dayak and Tadau Ka’amatan.
,,,Its during these colourful fastivals, Malaysians practice a special local concept called “open-house”, an occasion to receive well-wishes and much feasting plus merry-making, as everyone partakes in the gaiety of the occasion. Indeed, all Malaysians of all races, colours and religions join together in the festivities as almost as family members, if not more so.
,,,Such is the “cultures in harmony” in Malaysia and lets work on it to our strategic advantage plus for the future generation to enjoy life and living in Malaysia.
Am a proud Malaysian for such a beautiful country and defend her as long as am alive for all MALAYSIAN.
Dr, it is the empty busket makes the most noise or perhaps it is best to say he is clinging onto his last straw before he returns to the ordinary life without the YB title.
So he tries hard now to retain the YB title.
Doc,
Honestly, I am not a fan of IA from those days but lately it became worst. When I see him in the news, I felt like I am going to throw up! Deep in my heart I dunno why this doa came to my mind…. Ya Allah, why don’t you just give this man a heart attack, collapsed and die? NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE, I HAD A DOA LIKE THIS TO ANOTHER FELLOW MUSLIM BRO
wont spend any time for this guy, I’ll better sleep then think of him!
Dr Rafick,
I have seen your picture posted on your blog……a picture of you presenting a cheque to the church which was torched a while back.
You certainly look distinguished and handsome. Please do not say this “His voice and unattractive looks is probably the only thing common thing between him and me.”
This Ibrahim Ali’s face is about to burst out from its seams. He fatty face is like a beef pattie. His face is epitome of one who is about to have a heart attack! His body is fat too. He is just a round tree trunk….a sick one indeed.
This is only in the looks department.
You are a doctor. Ibrahim Ali is a human-looking animal. Animals have no conscience. This is a differentiating factor between a human and an animal.
There you go, doc.
Please do not ever compare yourself with a human-looking animal.
I have so much regard for you based on what you wrote thus far and the kindness you have shown to humankind. I do not know you, but, visiting your blogs since a year ago has given me a pretty good impression about you.
May you and your family have a great 2010.
Siebel
Yes very well said.
IA – whatever is said the frogman is still around – he can swim and dive also, less our sub can’t. The Minister of Def says that the Sub will be in the waters for testing on 18th Feb.
What has happened ? No news report of it diving !
The hidden hands and hidden agendas are a plenty right now, just can’t say which team he is playing for, who his godfather is or who pays him better!
Lets wait a bit and the picture can become much more clearer.
Speculations are thriving, otherwise we are bored to death, makes life much more interesting and colorful.
So many more frogs are planning to jump, with the current very dry spell, waters are receding on many dams, all drying up, even the rivers and lakes are no better.
NO water means bad OMEN – the Chinese say “moh sui” “Moh Tak King” ! No Money, No Can Talk!
So guys the richest guys can talk loudest and get gthings done obviously.
That is why the Malays or Me- La-Yus are encouraged to become rich, so that the Chinaman cannot TALK !
So the Malays became very rich, the last who is who rich people list in this country speaks volumes!
There are those whose names who are not listed..they are the diam diam types with much more “Fulus” than we can ever dream of! The kind of monies that one can live for 10 generations pun “Tidak Habis Makan” !
Sepuluh kali mampus dan hidup semula tidak habis duitnya!
So my frank advice to all frogs is to start looking for the best ponds and lubuks to get mega bucks for doing the dirty jobs!
Ibrahim Ali on his own cannot do much. The big danger is the sponsors and mentors backing him financially. Including moral support from people like Tun Dr Mahathir who has his own agenda.
I think It is time to have a movement from the Non-Malays NGOs to declare that the Non-Malays are not challenging the positions of Sultans, Islam and Malay Language which are clearly protected by the constitution but merely having concerns about the fairness of implementing the NEP and the corrupting practices under name of Ketuanan Malayu.
It is not to be a counter or confrontation movement, it should be meant to educate the Malays in general that Non-Malays are not a threat to the Malays but a trustworthy partner for the nation building that can bring benefits to all, especially the Malays as a majority. This can only work if the irresponsible main stream media and politicians are not spinning the well intention of this movement.

Why should non-Malays respond to mad men like Ibrahim Ali at all. This idiot is in a dreamland, in a twilight zone.
Tell me how have non-Malays threatened the Malays. In fact it is they who are threatening us. They call us names, suppress our religious rights, they demand bribes from us. they misuse the taxes we pay.
How can we bully Malays when the government, police, macc, judiciary, army, civil service are all controlled and monopolized by Malays.
Article 153 of the Federal Constitution is protected by Malay rulers. It cannot be changed even with a 2/3 majority in parliament unless the Council of Rulers agree.
The real focus of Perkasa/MPM is not about protecting Malay rights or Islam which is not being threatened and nobody is in a position to threaten. Their real focus is protecting Malay economic privileges.
Unfortunately most of these privileges are govt sanctioned rent seeking activities which is a drag on the economy and the productivity of those who work to earn what they have.
MPM feel threatened by Najib’s 1Malaysia although there is no substance behind it. They fear other races being given more equitable treatment which threaten their rent seeking activities.
I disagree that the likes of Ibrahim Ali have a strong following among ordinary Malays or rural Malays. This impression has not been substantiated by actual studies. The ordinary Malays are aware that special economic rights are not filtering down to them and they have little need to fight for them.
Never did like him from his days as Law Minister. A bully through and through!
Are you confused with Zaid Ibrahim with Ibrahim Ali?
This IA wants to get the attention, macam dia nak cakap pasal apa apa pun in Dewan Rakyat. Would be good if Dr. Rafick stops writting about him – for him to get any mileage or publicity.
How could one ever confuse with Zaid Ibrahim and Ibrahim Ali? One is a noble ,distinguished a true Malaysian, the other is a frogman, a madman , an idiot……..
Yep … Ibrahim Ali was at one time a law minister too.
Yes Mann,
That was the begining of ” Law of the Jungle in Malaysia ” One of the best pedigree TUN Mamak could produce….., I think so.
dr,
,,,lets not make this guy relevant by writing about him !…its a trap, the more we discuss about him, the deeper we fall into his bloody stupid trap.
,,,more pls on your efforts on improving social amenities and if possible strive towards eradicating abject poverty plus improvement in laying ‘common sense’ to basic infrastructures etc….??.
yah, another thing…. this Mr Hero’s face is very very unpleasant…
seriously i think Mr No2 (& this mentor) is behind all these, because:
1. he is the only one stand to gain if Mr No1′s pet project failed, as they believe they have “safely” tuck DSI away…
2. it seems like a repest technique used by Mr Mentor several decades ago, to unit the malays at all cost
i am sure the bigger picture will emerge soon, as the clock is ticking… nothing is on our side… “our” means Malaysian!
Err… No I know that frog also has a race. Malay frog and Non-Malay frog… hehehe…
Why am I seing Ibrahim Ali as a “TOAD” and not a frog… hehehe
Doc,
Thank you for this post. You are a ‘beautiful Malay’. Ibrahim Ali is the ‘ugly Malay’ and now the division between the two groups is becoming more visible.
Ibrahim is just a fly-by-night salesman. He is also a conman. He borrowed alot of money from Kuli whilst in Semangat 46 and has never repaid his loan to Kuli.
Nik Aziz allowed him to contest under the PAS ticket and now he barks at Nik.
Now UMNO has out sourced Ketuanan Melayu to him and I am sure he is being paid well to whip up non-Malay hatred so that ‘the gullible Malays’ in the kampongs who will believe them.
It is Malays like you, and those who love this country can help save this country by defeating Ibrahim Ali and UMNO’s evil designs.
With ‘beautiful Malay’ and non-Malay votes, I am sure the Opposition will take over Putrajaya and send UMNO and Ibrahim Ali to prison.
Those who play with fire will burn themselves.
dear sir, i believe the issue here is not about the threat to the federal constitution because there is no such threat as you reasoned out. but the reality can be seen on the ground: as cases being reported in the press, as cases being tried in courts, as cases being witnessed and experienced and felt by many Malays, etc., the malays are being belittled, run down as racists, barbaric, and are being questioned for defending or voicing their rights (as Bumiputera, on bahasa Melayu, on Islam, on Syariah laws, etc) which have been eshrined under the federal constitution; the malay rulers are being denigrated; their God Allah is suddenly being converted into Catholic! just to name a few. so the real issue is not about the threat to the constitution, but the Malays are being threatened for trying to be Malay and Muslim under the constitution!
I view IA action as just protecting his position rather than Malay interest.
What has he done to uplift the status of the Malays be it education, business, or welfare.
The only thing he does all these time were to spew venom for the malays to hate the non-malays while living on handouts.
In a sentence, I can say this … “bodoh sombong punya melayu”
Al Katak cannot do it without support and my guess through TDM the support comes from UMNO indirectly.
What is the motive then. To champion Malay rights and Islam ? No ! UMNO rights most likely ! They are inviting protest/anarchy both from the opposition and non Malays. Watch out ! Any wrong move will be capitalised by the government Race and religion are sensitive matters.
With him around, looks like Najib’s days are numbered.
Ibrahim Ali is a probably a mental case, engaging in deranged moves to shadow-box an non-existent enemy. Sadly many people are naive enough to be taken in for a ride on his bandwagon drawn by a mad horse.
Doc, I bet that if you put this IA’s head on a strict medical examination, there is a strong possibility that he is a perfect candidate for admission to the ‘university of Tanjong Rambutan’
He is not only dangerous and poisonous, he is VENOMOUS!
Doc,
I think the objective of this IA is to recruit a core group of Malay extremists who will be used to disrupt a peaceful change of government come the next GE. Not very different from 1969 when the Alliance were hanging on to political power by their fingertips. For them it would be deja vu again!
If you end up with Ibrahim Ali and a snake, you have more chance being hurt by him than the snake. The guy is dangerous and poisonous.
It’s obvious what the strategy is. They foresee UMNO will not win 51% in GE 2013 and so the rats are planning to desert the sinking ship!
In so doing, their first objective is to divide and rule by appealing to racist and religious bigotry sentiments, to try and attract hawkish right wing no-hopers to their ranks.
In this they will fail miserably since their intentions are evil!!
