1. It made major headlines in the MSM when Datuk Mohd Shukri Abdul said he felt that certain quarters were out to tarnish MACC’s image by making vicious and unfounded allegations against the commission, especially against his officers. Because of that, he has suggested that all investigations involving politics be suspended temporarily with immediate effect.
2. Firstly, I find the reaction and frustration poured by Dato Mohd Shukri is childish. As a Director of Investigations, he must be alert on the happenings around him. The current attention that MACC is facing is brought upon them by their own actions. They are fully responsible for the degradation of public perception of their own institution. I bet some would be ashamed to be associated with MACC.
3. Malaysians had high hopes when MACC was upgraded from ACA. They had expected MACC to be a truly independent and non partisan organization in fighting corruption. Unfortunately, their actions thus far have been otherwise.
4. In Perak, they made a significant impact in trying to put pressure on Sivakumar. Their open declaration to this effect is very clear. They act at very swiftly upon receiving any report put forward targeting the PR state assemblyman. Malaysians are neither blind nor deaf. They saw that once BN has taken Perak (illegally), MACC became silent and begin to concentrate on Selangor.
5. Subsequently they focused on Selangor. Their actions are usually very loud. Media openly publicized the name of the targets. Somehow the MSM seems to know who is being targeted. The same cannot be said about BN politicians. For e.g. to date, it is still not known who is the Terengganu Exco being investigated.
6. Whereas until today, the MACC is silent on the issue of extreme wealth that is being accumulated by many BN politicians. It was slow to react on how Khir Toyo can afford such a mansion. It did not react when the people complains about Balkis irregular movement of funds and use of funds which is not in line with the organizational objective.
7. I am not happy with the statement of Dato Mohd Shukri. It shows the weakness in him and his organization. If MACC is serious about protecting its image then the first thing they need to do is act without fear or favor. They must show that they are non partisan. They must work professionally within the ambit of their power. How can anyone trust MACC, if a witness like TBH died while he was in custody?
8. The right thing to do for MACC is not to stop investigating but continue to repair its damaged reputation. Continue to do things without fear or favor. In the mind of the people, it is perceived as a political assassination machinery and not an anti corruption agency. It is no surprised that Lim Kit Siang claims that MACC works like Gestapo. To ensure that the country remains peaceful, the Police, Army, Judiciary and MACC needs to be professional and act in a non partisan manner.

Dr,
What the Director of MACC did was probably distract the attention of the public from the main issues of them picking especially hard on PR ADUNs and MPs and the TBH case. Do they really mean it when he says that they won’t want to investigate politicians or do they mean the BN politicians like OTK (10Million scandal) or the Sarawakian millionaire Tiong of Kuala Dimensi involved in the 12 billion PKFTZ rip-off.
We are waiting to see how many of the BN political figures will be charged or seemed to be charged. Remember Kasitah Gadam and Eric Chia and many others who have got scott free on technicalities, after millions had been spent on investigations and prosecution.
Thousands of reports on BN politicians have not been touched. Trust us they say.
Dr., you are right in every aspect of your observation of MACC. They are not credible and have no respect for human rights. The Selangor state government is providing a proper place to conduct their work, why do they still insist to have it done in their quarter under sinister circumstances and in secret. The AG also cannot understand malaysians concerns….
I would say that AG is indeed understand malaysians concern, but they want it to be “MALAYSIANS SHOULD BE LISTEN TO ME, MY GOVERMENT, and MY COUNTRY”. Anyone who opposed us, will get the punch on his/her face.
I have read somewhere that, the MACC officers can get their work done anywhere they want, not necessarily at MACC office. Why do they insist on it? are they trying to show that they have more power? We would never know what is in their mind.
All I can say that they do it harsh on pakatan, but soft on BN. May be they are so called “janitor for the BN”.

What else would you expect from the Chief? He would most probably say..” Do not bite the hand that feeds you”…or maybe….” My balls are tied and everytime I make a wrong move or statement, it hurts…” Please forgive me la…..cari makan memang gitu….
Old Chinese saying…if my cock has abone, the pig will know how to climb a tree…….memang ‘tul…
Dear all.
Do not be taken in by the MACC’s remark on being “Merajuk’. It’s all part of the UBN’s secret project called ‘Blame It On The pakatan’. Yes, don’t you guys see it. First the MACC will cry just like a child. A cry of a child calling for their parents to say they are being bullied. In this instance, I can safely say, MACC has been told to make a press statement by their masters, to the effect that they are not going to investigate politicians both UBN and pakatan. In the first place, there has never been any investigations ‘gestapo’ style on any UBN politicians.
Who is the master making the the MACC ‘puppet on a string’. Can we say it’s UMNO masters. Remember the UMNO elections. Remember how tough the MACC were towards the UMNO candidates that were against a ‘CERTAIN’ group. Remember Azlina, the one time ‘giant’ of the UMNO and stron g lady ogf Badawis’s camp and many others. Well, where are they.
Oh yes, how come Malacca’s chief Minister is not taken care of afterall all the bro.ooohah during the UMNO elections. Wasn’t it a plan to intimidate Rustam Ali by certain quarters to not to contest against Muhiyuddin who was already accepted by the leadership of UMNO to be the next Dep.President.
So Mr Shukry, of MACC, isn’t he the runner of UMNO, if one were to ingeniously analyze all these above events . So guys, tell me now why Shukry is crying over spoil ‘t milk. Isn’t this a genius plan by the genius UMNO goons. See how they are attacking the pakatan, trying the best to tell the malaysian public that pakatan is trying to stop MACC from investigating their politicians. See how macc PUT IT THAT THEY ARE NOT GOING TO INVESTIGATE ALL POLITICIANS. What utter rubbish.
Whose order does the MACC take from?
After call-off the investigation personally, Deputy PM and the Home Minister make a statement to “order” MACC continue the investigation. After got the order from BIG BOSS, MACC Chief dare to say “No special treatment for anyone”. Can they ever think properly before they act? how independent is MACC?
Another thing that is worry me, Attorney-General try to “seek a declaration that the directive by Khalid is null and void”. Is that very important where is the interrogation carried out? I think people like us will never understand MACC stand and thought.
Mm…a bit strange for a civil servant to make a change on who MACC wishes or not to investigate politicians as per Datuk Muhd Shukri’s sudden outburst.
Isn’t this a major policy shift that he himself is quite inappopriate to make?
It sounds as if he’s crying out for support from higher-ups, especially from whom MACC is supposedly reporting to, but so far it’s not forthcoming.
Read from the blogs who in the government is coincidentally responding to Shukri’s outburst, leaving you to form your own conclusions who in the government MACC is reporting to in practise.
Dear Lim,
I think u got all ur facts wrong. Good deeds replenish bad deeds so please go and do ur home work……..this Macc guys have no good deeds but all bad deeds.
Hai merajuk pulak… macam budak-budak! Just do your work properly and I am sure no one will ever dare to insult you…. These MACC officers are certainly not up to the mark if they make remarks like this… it is like blackmailing the people and taxpayers who are actually paying their salaries!
You know why MACC want to back out probing politic related cases?? My theory is this. They tried to score a first on PR politicians but to date they just hit concrete walls. everytime they investigate PR politicians, Malaysians will echo Khir Toyo, PKFZ, submarines. So in order not to put its master BN in a very bad light, it is best that they discontinue probing politic related cases.
I think everyone who entered the building the previous night before the tragedy and left the building after the tragedy should be a suspect of homicide and should be investigated. The pathologist said the time of death could be about 5am Thursday. So those caught on camera at the entrance of MACC building going in the previous day and than exited the building the following day after 5am should be thoroughly investigated…all related phone conversation (mobile and land line conversation), sms log, psychological behavior etc…
Dear Doc,
MACC has never been neutral……let it be from Trengganu, Perak, PKFZ, …….all the corrupted politicians and what not be ….they just work for their masters…! Doc if u dare enough, I”m willing to engage these guys for a point to point talk togather with u. Up to u to reply.
Dear Balasi
Certainly, the recent actions by MACC has amplified their biasness.. that goes without saying.
“MACC had ALWAYS BEEN FAIR; only that they more fairer than fair to those in the Opposition.”
I read today the coroner Dr Khairul’s statement that TBH’s body was already in the early stages of decomposition while he was performing the autopsy.
That means that TBH’s body was left out in the sun on the balcony for almost the whole day before they moved it to the mortuary.
Also, the coroner mentioned that the time of death may have been as early as 5am based on the results of the autopsy.
So for all it is worth, MR Mohd Shukri Abdul, you are guilty by association with an organisation that IS responsible for the death of a prisoner AND also leaving the body to decompose just outside the office. By the rule of man AND ISLAM, it is a heinous crime. Insaflah!
Dear Doc,
I’m not starting to be emotional, ……we as any normal living mammals love to care for ur own kind….., whether he is Malay, Chinese or Indian. Have u seen a accident scenario……, nobody talks about who u are it just the live of a human being. Thats what Macc should look at and not at their pay masters who might not be around after PPU13.
Dear Doc,
Macc merajuk…….! are u kidding……please ask them to explain their investigations on Natang Agong…., Khir Toyol…., Datuk King Singh……., Cubit buntut…, Scomi…., MISC.., Raja Sabak Bernam yang sudah junang…., batang nyoir dan lubang tak ada batas…..janagan lupa Puteri yang mengandung kena .4, sampai habuk pun tak dah.
Dear Doc,
Macc is actually… ( sorry, I have deleted your writings for the language used in this blog.)
Thanks Doc. I feel we need some check and balance.
In my opinion, if MACC really cares about its credibility and accountability, the MACC officers who were involved in interrogating Teoh Beng Hock should have already been suspended, for 1) not taking care of its witness during custody, 2) interrogate a witness until late at night which is not in line with CPC.
Also, the MACC chief, at least the Selangor one, should also be suspended, or should tender his resignation, because:
1) A witness died under custody, under his supervision
2) A witness was interrogated not in line with CPC, does he not know of such case?
And now MACC merajuk, without even a single sorry towards Teoh Beng Hock, MACC merajuk for “vicious allegation”…
You can stand proud and be admired if you are credible and accountable. No “vicious allegation” would knock you down, if you are credible and accountable.
But you are not.
Hi
If the administrator feel offensive about my words pls & pls censored out rightly my post
I’m sorry about it.

Dear Sham
No worries
Dr,
MACC is just a re-org of alphabets from ACA !
No magic will be conjured and none can be expected !
Hi
I’m sorry, I retract my word…’what he lied about that he had a hand in the tragedy.’…. is hearsay and unsubstantiated. The word ..’he should knows’ is more appropriate.
Regards
Hi
MACC boss is already tired, exhausted and frustrated and still in the state of defensive and denial syndrom dead end…is this is the underconsious trait that he tried to hide something he knows and conscious about that he tried to supressed that he lied and lied….the symptom is compulsive and positive…it quite tangible now….put him under lie detector and we know what he lied about that he had a hand in the tragedy.
MACC brought it upon themselves. They continue to aggressively attack the PR govt. in Selangor and will not stop until Selangor falls back to BN, just like Perak did. They did the same thing in Penang (Fairus-ADUN Penanti).
To redeem themselves, they should aggressively interrogate Ong Tee Keat (RM10m ‘bribe’ from Kuala Dimensi), Khir Toyo (RM24m palace), Najib (Submarine purchase), Samy Velu (Maica Holdings), Koh Tsu Koon and Abdul Rashid (Kg Buah Pala), Ali Rustam and KJ (UMNO elections bribery), Musa Hasan(involvement with triads and abuse of power),, and the list goes on.
[...] …more (rights2write.wordpress.com) [...]
What happened to the corruption case against Osman and Jamaluddin, the 2 frogs from Perak? MACC seems to have lost interest after they jumped ship.
Who are these Malay MACC officers? Are they qualified or trained in fighting corruption? Are they school drop outs or ex-Mat Rempits?
They act more like UMNO members who have gone through a BTN course in Malay upmanship.
That why they have this anti non-Malay, anti PR stance in them.
They are openly showing that they are pro-BN and anti PR. They don’t even pretend to be neutral.
Sam O1,
If u want to know they are BTN Bas. and also fall guys of UmBN who all have track records.
salute u Sir ……………..
We pay the top dog top salary to menyalak when the going gets tough. Go figure.
There is a saying that Justice must not only be done, it must be SEEN to be done.
In the case of MACC, your paragraph 8 is the right way to go. They must stop what appears to the public as “Selective Investigation” and rope in the suspects from both sides of the political divide and not just weighted towards the Opposition members.
There are more than enough examples of this berat sebelah tactic.
Dr,
*Phew* what’s in their mind, like playing sand =.= .
It is not possible to “tarnish” MACC’s reputation. That is because it had none to start with.
There is a Malay saying ” Gajah depan mata tak nampak, kutu…jauh nampak ” or something like that, MACC having vision problem or brain problem ? What are their priorities ? Help BN to bring down the S’gor PR gomen ?
To LimPK, how many high profile cases did ACA or MACC successfully prosecuted so far ? Credit should not be given if credit not due. I read somewhere in MI that the Indonesian anti-corruption agency has a 100% record and these are big, big fish , buaya-buaya ,jaws , whales or whatever you want to call them, not ikan iblis ( e.g. RM 2500 mini-Malaysian flags ).
MACC boss, look into the mirror and see your own soul. Are you serving the nation or some racialist party ?
We are not so naive!
Harassing an old man for how much? Not even enough to justify the salaries of officers deployed. When are they going after the big fishes who flaunt their wealth and oppulent lifestyle in total contempt of public opinions.
Selangor MACC even threatens to stop investigation as mentoned by Dr Rafick above because of adverse public opinions but really as an excuse not to proceed against the sharks.
Only diehard BN supporters will give them credit.
Could MACC guarantee the personal safety of those, witnesses and suspects) they investigate? How professional is MACC in carrying out its duty?
Credit will be given where is due. Just prove it. Respect
and trust got to be earned.
kita nak mengundi,,,elok btenang dlu…kerana negara memelukan ketenangan dan harmoni

Which planet are you living in at the moment? I am not a Malaysian but have been following the antics of the MACC and blind Freddy can tell they are the tools of the ruling party.
LKS’s referring them to the Gestapo is actually complimentary. Maybe you are not old enough or taken the trouble to read history. Sheeesh!!!!
JK
Merajuk = Macam Bebudak
Not possible for MACC to be indipendant working without fear or favor when the big boss is the PM and not Parliment. No no not possible maaaa…
me thinks it’s a diversion , lying low until the current PKFZ issue die down, if not aiyaaaaa that Apek Ong kene intelogate maaa..
i hope bloggers and opposition politicians will act professionally and not to harangue the MACC when IT WAS JUST DOING ITS JOB!
the damaged reputation was also exacerbated by those people who had overly criticised the MACC.
it doesn’t kill you to give credit where its due once in a while.

Dear Lim
There is a clear and well demarcated line between bloggers and Opposition politicians. The use of the word “and” is not appropriate.
I am a blogger and has no specific political affilitiation. I say things the way I see it. My interest is my country and its ordinary people.
Dear Lim,
Do u understand the bigger picture……….., if not just stay calm and follow all the blogs to get a much more bigger picture.
