1. Over the last week since my last write-up the MSM and BN has been having a field day in political entertainment. The TV showed repeatedly residents venting their frustration and BN leaders came in to fire their salvo on the PR coalition. The theme of the week was about the lack of cohesion between the PR members. The famous Malay proverb, “Retak Menanti Belah” was aptly used.
2. Among the many things that was said by BN members, I was attracted to what Khairy said. I believe he said that the time has come for PR to show that its strength in managing issues instead of continue shouting. Come to think of it, he is right. It is time that PR start showing its capabilities in managing issues. I believe Kg. Buah Pala would be the right place to start.
3. As a non politician, I feel illegal organization like Hindraf in this case has failed in helping the residents. What I hear is mainly their repeated threats and giving deadlines. This is certainly not helping. What they are doing is making this into one big racial issue with the aim of promoting their own popularity without providing a reasonable and workable solution. It is the same with the Penang Government which seems to enjoy going around and making threats to the Developer.
4. The core in settling problems is talking and listening. It is time that the CM office meet with the resident association and the developers. The villagers wants to undo the damaged that has been going on past decade. They must accept the fact that it is no longer possible to live on the land that they have been “squatting” years. The court has decided that they are not the owners. It is time to move on.
5. The various people involved must sit together and have some nasi kandar, teh tarik and then talk. I believe it is possible to find a solution where the government assist them with resettlement as now money has been offered to the family. Some people may accept money and move to flats but from what I gather, many wants to be together and maintain their present lifestyle. I believe if the state government in Penang and Kedah can cooperate, they would be able to assist in finding suitable private land in Kedah bordering Penang where they can resettle.
6. In my earlier writing, I had mentioned a place called Lunas. For those that does not know, Lunas is only 20 mins from the Penang Bridge. It is part of Kulim district. Kulim itself is a growing and booming township. Oil palm plantation land with good access is plentiful. For about RM20K per acre you can get good land in Lunas. If the villagers banded together, they would be able to raised RM5.2 mill which would be enough to buy more than 200 acres of oil palm land.
7. The oil palm estate would be good for them to rear goats, cows and create a new and modern “High Chaparral” They developer can organize a suitable housing on the land and deduct the cost of development from the RM200K. The Penang state can contribute some token money in the cost of relocation and building infrastructure in the new High Chaparral.
8. My proposal may appear simplistic but in reality it is a fair and win win situation. It will meet the villagers need as well as all other parties. Politically, the State Government must show that they can solve problem that was created by others. If they can solve this problem, they would probably win the peoples heart by one notch. To start with, find a reasonable and neutral party to initiate discussions.

If that is the last hold of the Indians in Penang, than save it.
The Browns committed an error by not legalising the land for their workers and the workers for waiting so long to be kicked out of their own home.
Now the politicians have thrown their dice. Kok Soo Khoon cannot run away from the picture because he allowed it to happen. Corruption can be smelt there with a price of 3.2.
Lim Guan Eng cannot shut the door because no Chinese is there in nutmeg land.
Najib cannot wash his hands clean because he isn’t in Penang or it isn’t a federal affair. The creator of the happenings stood next to him today.
The Indians’ votes in Penang should be decided from the nutmeg affair.
The Indians must be better organised than taking pride in bahaving like thugs. The Indian leaders like other leaders are self motivated and goaled. The politician aren’t motivated to serve the people. I see no Mahatma Ghandhi in these crowd. It aches to see follies in all, let it be the opposition or government of the day.
Caste away the self and for one true moment serve the people; not the money. I thirst for the Mahatma in all who want to guide. May GOD be your path finder.
resettling them would be better but not after squeezing the developer for more $$. there were lots of questions on how they got the land so cheap. they will be making a bundle once its developed so i see no reason they cant compromise. unless a hefty payout was made to all the middle men.
