1. I manage to listen to part of your speech while having Satay with the family at Hj Samuri in Kajang. The Satay shop in Bangunan Dato Nazir was full with people but very few appear to be watching or paying attention to what was shown on TV i.e. your speech. Most of the patrons I noticed were Malay families and they did not seem to show any interest on your speech.
2. WOW! That was the first thing that came to my mind when I listen to you. I could not believe my eyes when the TV showed that Mahathir and his wife was there as well. At the closing Mahathir went to the stage and reconcile with Pak Lah at your request. It was a fantastic PR coup. That is about taking advantage of the situation. The delegates was really moved the action and I can tell you that little action that you did has brought the people from both camps to be with you. All I can say is WOW!
3. I believe this small act on your part will motivate UMNO members nationwide. Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will have a tough time in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau. I do not wish to comment about Batang Ai as I believe UMNO contributions there is minimal. PR members has to double their effort to convince the voters that what you are saying is merely a show. The show started during the AGM and with Najib appointment as PM before the election, the WOW factor would be infectious and would rejuvenate people.
4. The one thing that I appreciate in your speech is that, you admitted indirectly that money politics is rampant in UMNO and there is a need to reform. The basic reform that can only bring UMNO back to strength is to decentralize the power back to the members.
5. One-person one vote will ensure the survival of the fittest. No amount of money will be enough to buy votes. Only the sincere and honest leaders will be borne. I do not know how he is going to do it. He has to change people perception where in the eyes of the masses, he is probably the most corrupt UMNO president.
6. Najib spoke at length about having the pulse of the people at the member’s heart. This is important. I think in principle the many “Little Napoleons” need to get off the altar and walk with the people. These little Napoleons must now come down from their thrones and look at what is important to the people. Serve the people and do not expect people to be the servants.
7. Many things must change in UMNO. Whatever changes that need to be done must start from within. It must start from the top. Like what Shafie Apdal said,” UMNO need to be service centric and not issue centric”. In light what is happening in Perak and continuous exposure by the Selangor Government on the abuses of previous administration, it is not going to be easy. UMNO must realized that the people is the client and not other wise.
8. What ever has been promised by Najib is too early to be seen. Certainly, there will be an impact on the election on the Bukit. Let us wait and see whether the people buy this new marketing strategy. Let us see whether Najib will qualify for the best salesman of the year. The way I see, those patrons of Haji Samuri Satay today did not seem to be least bothered today.

A point of view that I must agree with…

After getting this special right for us LGBT, I won’t think we are kicked out by family, by world. I’m here as a bisexual, get very happy for this matter. Now I can speak out loudly “hi everyone, I’m a bisexual. I love the world.” without any hesitation. Now, feel we are also common people as equal as others. “No matter we are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender, our heart is full of love. And we also hope to have life-long love” said by one of my bisexual friends met at the bisexual club http://www.seekbi.com on heart blog. Most of us like-minded people are deeply moved by her honest words. Thanks for making us accepted by others. We are really proud of us. Join 10000000000% free. happy life is up to you.
(NOTE: I am not the Sam in the earlier post).
If Mahathir was that influential many UMNO members would have quit UMNO when he left the party. In fact many UMNO leaders made fun of him. Even Nazri and Rafidah chastised him.
What makes you think he has suddenly a miracle worker who will bring all Malays under UMNO.
Are Malays that gullible and stupid? I think not but then I might be wrong after seeing what happened to Semangat 46.
It seems now that, to some people UMNO can do no good.
They are beyond repair and no amount of remorse for allowing money politics to hijack their course can bring them back to salvation. Hopeless fellas.
UMNO is simply too dirty, why even Elizabeth’s fun time was cut short due to their money-politicking. Pity her and boyfriend.
UMNO paid lots of money to PKR men in Perak, and even the DAP woman could not resist the money that UMNO offered her. Really really, UMNO is the culprit in every possible way. They keep on giving away money like no tomorrow. Just dont know where they print the money, or else I bring a bucket or two … it seems their source of money is inexhaustible. Very irritating you know.
Every bad thing that happen in this country, UMNO has a finger and toe in it. Korek korek korek …
kita dah lama mendukung biawak hidup………….pikir-pikirkanlah
melayu jangan mudah lupa….
apa-apa pun biarlah malaysia ni kekal aman…jangan jadi
padang jarak padang terkukur…….. gajah sama gajah
berperang pelanduk mati di tengah-tengah…..
kera di hutan disusui anak sendiri mati tak makan……
Kepada penyokong UMNO,
Kalau ulama yang dihormati macam Prof Dato Haron Din pun join PAS apa lagi nak cakap..takkan beliau nak tunjukkan role model yang salah kot..
Adeyyy Dr Lee Choong Hin, POOODAH lah…. SAM is right… and to you kush…. pun POODAH lah…. ko dapat elaun kerr atau sijil penghargaan dok cium bo**ot depa nih? Lu sapa dan dia sapa? Lu sedar kerr? atau masih dilamun mimpi?
Wahai kassimselamat2,
agreed with hatiar that najib should be more careful with the maha dirty man.
I believe UMNO is back, and with Tun M back the majority of the swing in last GE will be back to BN.
Tun M is the No 1 blogger in Malaysia, and thats a fact ! he archived what RPK,Anwar,LKS&Hadi blogs combined can’t even dream of? if we think the young and savvy are reading RPK,Anwar,LKS & Hadi blogs, think again, they throng to chedet.cc instead.
Kassimselamat2
Terima kasih.
Dr Lee Choong Hin .. Please how many more chances do you want us to give UMNO. They have ruled Malaysia for more than 50 years. Pl don’t count the first second and third PMs. Corruption etc only started with mamak. Why do we have to give them another chance. As for me I think a change will be in order. what have I got to loose by giving PKR a chance, nothing. At least they are running the 5 states well for the past year. So for me its CHANGE and no to 2nd chance for BN.
all the umno politicians are novice including najib mahyuddin and etc. ect. how happy i could have been if only hishamuddin could have said hidup malaysia. hidup semua kaum. but hidup melayu was the straw that broke the camel’ back.same old silly words and silly actions. they just don’t want to change and there is nothing much the raakyat can do about it
Yahoo. Best Drama award 2009 goes to UMNO goons. What a sensational hipocratic move by TDM. I have no respect for him anymore. A while ago he said I dont want to be tainted with the money politics that has happened in UMNO and the next moment you realise he is always on stage picking up Badawi’s hand and showering it up. He can bash people and at the end of the day he has the reserve right of showing he is a great man picking up his rivals and most hated man of the year’s hand. What a sly fox. Dont trust this musang tua. Hed change colours. Be careful Najib the moment things dont go his way he will bite you as he has been doing for the past years. Please look up his web if you ( Najib ) sudah mudah lupa juga. Well. I guess, politicians as they say themselves of theselves, ‘there is no permanent enemy and no permanent friend’. There lies the living proof.
TDM did his best to rally support for Mukhriz but lost, so, join your enemies for the common good that is for the sake of MUkhriz. Thats about lousy politicians. Hellow TDM, like you said, ‘Malaysia Boleh’. So Mahathiar BOLEH. Viva Mahathiar suddenly the fighter of Raja Melayu after bashing them in year 1993.
I thought his parting message that new stimulus allocations of contracts for class F contractors …. which also mentioned as for UMNO and BN supporters is another blatant act of mis-using rakyats money for his own political agenda.
I think with Mahathir back in UMNO … will be good for the country …… BN will get kick out sooner!
I dont think they will change. It’s just rhetoric and sandiwara. Its not in their best interest to change anyway.
cynical? perhaps. But with just cause.
[...] Open letter to Dato Sri Najib, UMNO President 2009 1. I manage to listen to part of your speech while having Satay with the family at Hj Samuri in Kajang. The Satay shop [...] [...]
Give UMNO a chance. At this point in time only UMNO can bring peace, harmony and prosperity back to Malaysia. The question is whether it will change for the better. If not sorry in the next election
Just wondering whether this is an open letter or just another article.
Point 1 to 4 seems to be addressed to DS Najib, whilst the rest seems to be your comments about the speeches by him.
Anyway, your title is quite misleading compared to your contents.
The event is in fact a make-believe drama crafted out on the stage of UMNO assembly, to impress the viewers that the new and old UMNO are actually a united, one happy family!!!
Gosh!! whom are these people trying to mislead, after the drama, they would be clawing at each other like cats and dogs behind the curtain!!!
In short, they are scumbags!!!
This blog’s great!! Thanks
.
