1. I refer to an article written in Malaysiakini dated 27 Feb 2009 under the heading of “PIBG seluruh negara bantah PPSMI” where it was mentioned that GBPPSMI received an additional moral support where the Chairman of Majlis Permuafakatan Persatuan IbuBapa dan Guru Nasional (PIBGN), Prof Ali Hassan who claims to represent 8000 schools nationwide that also wanted that the PPSMI is to be abolished. He went one step ahead by saying that they are willing to participate in the Grand Demonstration planned by GBPPSMI.
2. First of all, allow me clarify as a former president of a PIBG. This PIBGN is an illegal entity. It is not registered with Registrar of Society and its formation is in direct violation of Malaysian Education ACT 1996 (ACT 550) and Education Regulation 1998 (Item No 57). I have highlighted this in my previous writing about PIBG in my blog, www.rights2write.wordpress.com.
3. My children school is not a member of this association as it is an illegal entity. As far as I know, this is a few people with business and political affiliations setup this organization on their own. There is no annual meeting to select office bearers. In fact, the organization letter head uses Prof Dr Ali Hassan house address and contact no. It does not have a proper secretariat. It uses its letter head to endorse an internet based tuition program SKOR A.
4. Could it be that Prof Ali Hassan has a business relationship with the company that runs the SKOR A program? It is no secret that PIBGN started at the same time that SKOR A program started. My own research indicates that he was the pioneer director of of KENSHIDO INTERNATIONAL SDN. BHD, the company that promotes the SKOR A tuition program.
5. The crux of the matter is, I think it is a fallacy and a misrepresentation of facts if Prof Ali Hassan claims that his illegal organization represent 8000 schools in this country. Maybe he can start by showing the media the membership forms that the 8000 PIBG had submitted to form PIBGN. He should show evidence that he was elected by an election process that involves representation of 8000 PIBG. I wonder when was the last time they had conducted their AGM and when the next AGM would be. I have yet to see its constitution.
6. What is also equally shocking is that Ministry of Education itself endorses such organization indirectly by inviting them to attend the round table discussion as well as many other ministry programs. The Ministry officials are in fact going against their own Education ACT and education regulation. It is no secret Ali Hassan has got some special privileges because of his political affiliation.
7. I urged the media to probe further this illegal society which is not registered and had misrepresented themselves as representing 8000 schools. In reality it is only representing Prof Ali Hassan personal interest.

Thanks Doc.
Just wondering, does PIBG have to register with the ROS?
People loves to speak for everyone ‘cos it lends them credibility and the (perceived) support they get behind them.
Surely my school ain’t part of this thing.
As stated in the article in Malaysiakini ” gabungan nasional PIBG tidak rasmi ” just means that. PIBGN does not represent the views of the 8000 PIBG nationwide !
Dr. Rafick,
This is the kind idiots that we have, that will destroy the education of our children and grand children. What they care is to make money out of these children, and they don’t care the least, the future of the children. We better hang these idiots by their throats.
Actually, I have wondered about that, too, because this Prof Ali Hassan has been the President of PIBGN for many years, it seems. Who elected him?
