1. I am writing this article while I am in Brunei. Just to set the record straight, it has nothing to do with me running away from Malaysia after the drama that has taken place in the last 10 days also since Najib became the Perak UMNO liaison Chief and especially on what has been happening in Perak in the last 18 hours.
2. Based on the latest development as reported in Malaysiakini, Malaysia Insider, The Star Online and the NST on line, it appears that suddenly BN has just managed to convince four PR members to join them. Najib now claims that BN has command enough majority of the house to form the State Government.
3. The Perak MB, Nizar has been trying to meet the Sultan to seek his blessing to dissolve the Parliament. However, it is reported that Tuanku has deferred on his decision to dissolve the Perak State Assembly pending his meeting with Najib. That is a fair move. As a head of state he has to listen to all sides.
4. As I had said previously, Najib has a magic lamp. People can go missing, reappears, missing again and then reappears with a change of heart. You do not get this kind of magical powers without the right upbringing and tutoring.
5. All the latest happening does not augur well for the people of Perak. The rakyat has been in a limbo. Governance is affected. It is fun to read the political development in the papers as well as the internet but what is happening is that it has an impact on the people of the State.
6. From the point of law, I believe now BN has majority. Najib was right to say that BN is now ready to take over the Perak Government, as now it appears that it has a majority of the house. Tuanku decision not to immediately grant Nizar his request for the dissolution of the State Assembly pending his meeting with Najib is a wise decision.
7. However, I think in the next few hours Tuanku need to make a quick decision and his decision has to be based on the rule of law. However in this case if there is a small opening in the Tuanku heart, he would be able to see that what is happening is not a norm. State Assemblyman went missing. People jump ship for reasons that I believe has to do with personal interest. The majority today did not become the majority because the people has chosen it to be as such but rather due to those elected rep has made personal decision without taking into consideration of the peoples intention. They forgot that they are there because the Rakyat put them there when they were ask to chose between BN and PR.
8. Under the circumstances, I do hope Tuanku sees the need to give the mandate back to the people. Let the people choose who they want to represent them. In the last 2 weeks peoples mandate has been abuse. Those who has been elected has been acting for their personal interest. Let the people decide on how the people want to be represented. This is the right thing to do under the circumstances.
9. I hope Tuanku sees it the way I see it. I am only wants to see a fair play. It is the basic tenet of the principle of democracy where the rakyat is the one that makes the decision. Government must be elected by the people of the state and not by decided by a few elected representative with personal agendas. It also does not reflect well on BN where it is willing to form government at any cost including accepting members with legal problems. I hope UMNO would think again.
9. I hope the people has the chance to decide for themselves by the time I comes back from Brunei. Whatever the case maybe, as a blogger, I am getting more scared now. I am worried Najib will use his magic lamp to cast his magic over all the bloggers and make us disappear. Takut lah….
I

BN started it . look at history.
dr,
what about your army skills. TTS maybe? i propose we do some study on Genghiz and Kublai Khan, should look for some tactical moves to win this kind of fight.
for me, the easiest way is to order some RPGs… phew, lucky Nizar is not me!
The Ruler have spoken.HRH know the law too well, and he has made a well informed decision.Your may ask Karpal Singh for confirmation.
Tiada harga diri .
Dear Penunggu,
I never talk about playing field, I’m talking about the frog leaping. Who started it? It was these same people who support the crossover, and now the same people are organizing a mammoth protest. What the hell !
Hi Fahmi
Anyway, aku ni cuma rafick khan and not GENGHIZ KHAN
Takut? I thought the word ‘Khan’ in your name should show some kind of bravery.
People use to say ‘If you dare want to fight, go and fight like a man’.
Please refer to Ali Imran verse 175:
“Sesungguhnya (pembawa berita) yang demikian itu ialah Syaitan yang (bertujuan) menakut-nakutkan (kamu terhadap) pengikut-pengikutnya (kaum kafir musyrik). oleh itu, janganlah kamu takut kepada mereka, tetapi takutlah kepadaKu (jangan cuaikan perintahKu), jika betul kamu orang-orang yang beriman.”
and the last portion of Al Baqarah verse 40:
“…dan kepada Akulah sahaja hendaklah kamu merasa gerun takut, (bukan kepada sesuatu yang lain).”
28 (BN) + 28(Pakatan) + 3 (Bebas)=59. Should the winner be the 28 (BN)? The 3 bebas are claimed to be friends of BN. This is a hung Dewan Undangan. Is this democracy ala BN? Let’s see how the rakyat understand arithmatic.
silap typo tadi…
Dear Dr. Rafick,
Don’t you know that UMNO/BN is just so desperate. They will do anything, take anything and buy anything; just to boost the image of the wounded lion called Najib. They are now even willing to take in corrupt assemblymen just like the two Perak PR asemblymen. I suppose the more corrupt members they get, the better.

This is a real non-sense.
One party started the flame by agreeing to the ‘lompat parti’ method.
Th other party did not like it – and planned to pass a new law to stop this from happening.
But then, the later party is the one who welcomed the ‘lompat party’ members with open hand and even plan to take over the state government.
Where’s your stand on this BN?
Bossanova,
Its already unethical in the first place in the general election campaign. Playing field is not in the same level with all sort of media controlled by one side only. I wonder if rezeki get from this kind of victory is halal. Wallahualam
God willing , DYMM Sultan Azlan Shah will decide on what is best for Perak. What is most important is that both political divide will accept the decision and move forward.
Agreed with Bossanova, who started it? 16th September ring a bell?
It is indeed a very unethical thing to do, but who started it?
sigh.. it really is a tragedy, not just for Perak but also for our country.
the “warlords” will really stop at nothing..
sickening. Sad. worried. fed up. a whole gamut of emotions.
