Dear Fellow Malaysian’s
I have been following all the writeup in Malaysiakini and as the clock ticks towards the General Election, I was thinking on what last few pieces of advice that I can give to all Malaysian irrespective of religion and skin color. I receive an email from a friend on what the aspiring ADUN’s and MP’s should be. I went trough all the contents of his email ( 60 points below) and I realized that it is more important for us the voters to decide.
The criteria below applies to all people irrespective of their religion. Even if you are a non muslim, you can also use the criteria’s in making a decision. The most important thing is we must make the RIGHT DECISION BY CHOSING THE RIGHT CANDIDATE AND NOT CHOOSING A FLAG OR A LOGO OR THE LEADERSHIP OF ANY PARTY.
After going trough it, I feel , it is going to be an easy decision to make as all the incumbents MP’s and ADUN’s that we know off are a well known public figure as their image and action is a public knowledge as it is always in the newspaper and TV. Based on this we would be able to pass a judgment:
1. Respect and honor all human beings irrespective of their religion, color, race, sex, language, status, property, birth, profession/job and so on

2. Talk straight, to the point, without any ambiguity or deception

Dear Dr. Rafick,
Just completed reading ‘The Reluctant Politician – Tun Dr. Ismail and His Time’ by Ooi Kee Beng, a book I believe must be read by all Ministers and politicians. Tun Dr. Ismail exhibits most of the qualities that you have so describe in your write-up. I cannot say the same for the ministers that we have today.
